Today we’d like to introduce you to Benny The Jet
Hi Benny the Jet, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Its definitely been a long journey. I’ve always had a love for music but in high school I got really into hip hop and loved everything about it. I starting hanging out with a good friend of mine, D Lee, and at the time he was making music and I started going with him to studio sessions with Bill C Da Don at his home studio. After that we both got lucky and ended up working at his new recording studio called The Track House basically like interns and from there I really got to see what was all involved in the process of making music and fell in love with the art. I’ve had the pleasure to make good friends and have good experiences with other people all connecting over music and that’s what inspires me today while trying to stay true to myself as much as possible. Today I am a recording artist and I record music mostly at my home studio and various studios throughout STL. I also collab with a good amount of amazing artist’s and I’m just having fun searching for the vibe!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Roads can always be smoother but the only real obstacle that I’ve faced is myself. Motivation, Being over critical of myself, and various other issues I’ve always struggled with along with the many other things life can throw at you. At the end of the day everything’s get better and you find a way, Roads get paved over and new paths get forged.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Recently I finally released my first album titled “The Sandlot” and I’ve been recording music off and on for awhile now. Mostly a recording artist and I do a lot of audio engineering like vocal recording for myself and others. Also dabble a little bit in vocal mixing and currently video editing. I like to create an awesome atmosphere with the artists I create with that you can hear through the music. Connecting with good people, having fun, and generating good vibes that are genuine and true is what I aim to do. I don’t know if I’m different from others but I know I love what I create.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I’ve always been a goofy dude and nothings changed. I’ve always tried to be my true self as much as possible while embracing positivity even while dealing with whatever life threw my way. I use to be into skateboarding for a good amount of my teenage years then I got big into hip hop and It’s been a big focus for my interests along with videos games, anime, movies etc. All these things had a big influence in my life and helped shape me into the person I am today.
