Hidden Gems: Meet Amy Lemire of AIM Training and Consulting Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Lemire

Hi Amy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a St. Louis native and have always had a passion for inspiring others to be the best version of themself in sales, success, and life. After graduating from the University of Kansas, I went into my sales career. Both of my parents had been in sales and I thought this was a great career path. Little did I know the constant test of self confidence and determination this career would present. I found that most of the companies I worked for offered sales training, but not much support in building persistence, I call this the ‘inner game’ of sales.

I became interested in personal and professional development when I was 19 and went to seminars when I was in college to build my self confidence. Later in my sales career, I also joined Toastmasters during the 14 years I lived in Chicago. I also became involved in Tony Robbins seminars and became a ‘Senior Leader’ in 2021.

After being in sales for 2 decades I was promoted to a ‘Sales Field Trainer,’ and I could feel my mission was to teach and train others how to be the best version of themselves in sales, speaking, and success habits. In 2013, I took my first role as a Sales Training Manager in a med tech company, and later advanced to 2 other companies as the Global Director of Sales Training. In 2021, I made the decision to leave my role and work full time in my business, AIM Training and Consulting. In November 2024, I will celebrate my 3rd year working this business full time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I believe adversity and setbacks, like life experiences, can be our best teachers. I have faced challenges in my life. The first challenge was in 1977. I survived a near-death experience at age 9. As my family was leaving Six Flags St. Louis, we were involved in a near fatal car accident caused by a drunk driver. As a survivor, I struggled with self confidence much of my younger and teenage years, primarily due to the damage to my face, and years of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. I believe this event was my calling to become a student of personal development. It allowed me to see that it is not what is on the ‘outside’ that matters, it is on the ‘inside’ that matters most.

I also had some difficult years in sales. One year in 2012, I was nearly terminated for poor performance, after having my best year the year before. I hired a sales coach and was able to turn around my results in 90 days. I learned the importance of attitude, activity, and accountability being the keys to sales success. I also felt my calling to write my book ‘From Zero to Sales Hero’ after this victory. It is also the event that inspired me to move down the path of a career in sales training, coaching, speaking, and consulting.

I have served in professional roles as the Global Director of Sales Training, Performance, and Operations, North America Director of Sales Performance/Effectiveness, National Sales/Process Training Manager, Advancement to Senior Sales Executive. Promoted to Field Trainer to support new hire C Suite sales skills development. Top 10 sales performance achievement.

I am a Professional member of the National Speakers Association. I am a Past President of NSA-St. Louis. I received the ‘Member of the Year’ award from the St. Louis are Chicago IL NSA chapters 4 times. I also served the Dean of Speakers Academy 2016-present. In 2013, I received the Toastmasters DTM Distinguished Toastmaster Award, the highest honor in Toastmasters International. In 2011-2012, I served as a Toastmasters Chicago District 30 Area 1 Governor, managing 4 Toastmasters Clubs and inspiring over 100 Toastmasters to achieve Communication and Leadership metrics. Also, I previously served as Club President, Vice President of Public Relations.
