Today we’d like to introduce you to Antania Williams
Hi Antania, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Born and Raised in Saint Louis A Street Wear Brand was born, I have loved fashion since I was a little girl and able to pick out my own clothing for school. I get my creativity from my mother and grandmother who are really good artist. My brand is called Live Now Clothing it’s a luxury street wear brand I created watching an episode of Oprah believe it or not. She was talking about living in the moment and enjoying life and with that,It created a whole other creative world for me. My brand is dedicated to fostering self-expression and inclusivity for all ages, shapes, and sizes. Our mission is simply to encourage everyone to live in the moment, leave the past behind and dream big. I have been building my brand on my own since I started back in 2012, when i was trying to figure out how to start a brand.Every year I’m learning something different and elevating my brand either its new designs or styles. I’ve invested in myself. Did my research about all the different machines I would need to start my own production in house to make my own garments myself. Once I figured that out I bought all the machines and started a workshop from my home that i could create and market my own clothes there. I also did my research to find manufactures so that I could get things in bulk and kind of take the load from me with producing items myself and focus more on the marketing end. When i put my brand on i love how people react to it,i just been making myself a walking billboard ,i love being a example for my nieces and nephews because they really look up to me not just in fashion but in life. I love showing them other ways to make money and become successful. I really had to make people believe in me once i started building my brand and making a name for myself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This fashion designer road has been a learning experience, I’m always learning something new every day. Every year i find myself elevating and making my designs better, quality better, marketing better. Trying to figure out everything on your own to build your brand is a struggle but its also motivating, because people see me elevating and now they are asking me how I did this or how I do certain things. I really want to create a documentary of my story and how i built my brand and give tips to people. So I just try to keep pushing until I get to where I want to be, and try to be that example or motivation.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in luxury street wear, fashion styling. I’m a believer in the saying that “a first impression is everything.So i try to think of that everytime I’m going somewhere or representing myself. I designed my legendary hometown hoodie with all the landmarks you could think of if anyone mention STL that I’m proud of, With over 200 sold and praying for me being sold. I have also Showcased my work in Harlem Fashion Week in New York in 2022, which was a great experience. I just took that leap of faith and it turned out to be a great. I believe that my confidence and faith sets me apart from others i love networking, show casing my talents, and just growing my brand. I come up with all my own designs and logos. I designed Nikes Pride Parade t-shirts for this year’s 2024 Pride parade which they sponsored. This was a big accomplishment for me it’s been one of my goals to design something for a billion dollar brand, which is a goal of mine to reach for success. I have been in multiple fashion shows which help me build my brand and promote myself. I just love designing and putting things together and making them look good. I love how people know to come to me about fashion tips or sneakers and take my opinion to heart. I really love the way hip hop has become like the fashion culture now and people are really being themselves. I’m know for just being different when it’s comes to style. I really don’t like dressing like other people. I just love being myself and being a leader.
What’s next?
I plan on having my own sponsored fashion show next year, building a team, and getting out more of my content. Having my own sponsored fashion show would hopefully open doors for new networking opportunities. This would allow for my business to grow which is what I aim for daily. I plan on building up my inventory also, so that I can have more things available on hand I’m still a growing brand so i want to increase more sales.Getting more celebrities and brand ambassadors to promote.I plan on opening my own start front also next year probably be my birthday gift to myself if i continue to lock in on my goals of reaching a successful year.I also will be dropping new merch soon for the fall and every Friday. I just want to continue to stay relevant and staying consistent with my brand.
