Check Out Worldsapartwordstogether Leah Allen & Marit De Lau’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Worldsapartwordstogether Leah Allen & Marit De Lau

Hi WorldsApartWordsTogether, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We met as college students at Lindenwood University, where we were housemates and teammates on the Lindenwood swim team. Eventually, we graduated and went separate ways: Marit moving back to the Netherlands, while Leah stayed in Saint Charles. As best friends, we wanted to build a community together. This blog and podcast became our passion project that brings unique content from two besties navigating the excitement and challenges of adulthood. Our goal is to empower others through personal experience and life lessons to stay true to oneself and understand that we are all in this together!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not always been smoothe. We enjoy creating content and recording episodes; however, our goal of building a community is taking longer than anticipated.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Marit has a degree in psychology and is working on her master’s in forensic and legal psychology. Professionally, Marit is a coach for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Leah has a degree in exercise science, therapeutic recreation and has a masters in sports science. Professionally, Leah is currently working in academia pursuing her PhD in nutritional science.

We are proud of our diverse backgrounds that when combined provide different perspective and experiences that allow for insightful podcast conversations and blogs. This uniqueness of not only background differences, but also cultural differences provide a multi-faceted listener experience.

What matters most to you?
The primary thing that matters most to us to the message that you are not alone. We talk about our personal day-to-day struggles with self-growth, self-acceptance, mental health, and our personal journey. These topics are often discussed from an influencer perspective, but in our experience rarely discussed from a reality perspective. We find it important to share the raw reality of these topics in our life and ways we have overcome and worked through them in hopes that we can provide a realistic conversation.
