Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Sinn

Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was actually a high school drop out- for lack of a better term- and needed something to do. I’ve always been passionate about the beauty industry, so at 17 years old I enrolled in cosmetology school. At 21, I became a single mom and my desire was to be the best example to my daughter that I could be. So two weeks before she was born I finished high school and 6 months later I started my undergrad. While busy being a mother, I worked in the salon full time and went to school full time for four and a half years until I finished my Bachelors in Business Administration. I thought I would leave the salon and do something else with my degree, but I couldn’t leave my passion for the beauty industry behind. At that point, I decided to focus all of my efforts on my hair and makeup career. That has been one of the most fulfilling decisions I’ve made. I am now a Master Hair Stylist, Makeup Artist and Educator. I’ve had the opportunity to do hair and makeup for television appearances, events with tens of thousands in attendance, New York Fashion Week and most recently, Paris Fashion Week! I have been incredibly blessed to do what I love locally and globally!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No matter what you’re doing, the path to success is never linear. I think we all face failures and set backs along the way- it’s just part of the process and how we grow. For me, one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced, especially early on in my career was connection. I’m a pretty extreme introvert and often struggle with self-confidence which really affected my ability to build my business. I found it difficult to connect with clients and even when opportunities would arise, I would often let them pass by because I lacked the confidence to put myself out there. Thankfully, with time, intentionality, and a lot of encouragement, I’ve learned to overcome these struggles and now have a business that is thriving!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a hairstylist and makeup artist. I specialize in hair cutting, blonding, grey coverage and bridal. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in my career. From being a 17 year old high school dropout turned cosmetology student, to now, being an educator in my field, doing hair and makeup for the runways in New York and Paris! What sets me apart, I believe, is my willingness to learn! Even after 16 years in this industry, I’m still constantly learning, growing, and finding new challenges in order to better my skillset.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I actually grew up on a farm so I started riding horses when I was maybe 4 or 5 years old. I had a beautiful black horse named Pride that I learned to ride on and spent my entire childhood with. So my favorite childhood memory would have to be summer days just galloping as fast as possible across the fields of our farm.
