Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Dobrinic
Hi Tyler, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We first found our passion for detailing in 2019. My brother Riley and I (Tyler) both worked for a detailing company in high school. We both grew to love cars whether that was working on them cleaning them or even going to car shows. After years of us both working for the detailing company, we decided this year to make it official and branch out on our own. The First steps we took was getting the bare minimum tools we need to deliver great work. We shopped off amazon, Facebook market place, and home depot. All the tools included we ended up spending around $700. The next step we had to take was to get jobs and build our social media presence. We got our first jobs by asking to do friends and family’s vehicles for a discounted price and in return we would get photos of our work and social media support along with a little bit of cash. We asked all our friends and family member to spread the word about us and post about us on Facebook. When started to get more and more jobs and continued to ask our new clients to spread the word about us. We took all the money we earned and reinvested it into the business. We took that money and spent it on things like business cards, new and better tools, getting licensed, and insured. Lastly we decided to join the Weldon Springs chamber of commerce and meet and build relationships with other business owners in the community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has been many obstacles on our entrepreneur journey. Many of the struggles was finding new was to get our name out there, getting our first company contract, finding the best tools and products for our jobs. There was also a lot of learning we had to do as-well. Like figuring out what type of corporation or insurance we needed, or all the things that need to be kept tract off like jobs, clients, expenses, income, and inventory.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Detailing is the process of taking a car and returning it to its factory cleanliness. There are multiple different field within the detailing space. They have the different types of detailing like automotive or marine. Some of the different fields often lumped in with detailing are things like paint correction, ceramic coating, wheel repair, and tinting. We specializing in detailing field, but we also do paint correction and ceramic coating. We are very proud of the growth we have had in the short few months, we have managed to get some of the best tools, and products in a short amount of time. We have also managed to learn and perform our new services that are paint correction and ceramic coating. The other thing we are proud of is the community and relationships we have developed with our clients, we love creating an actual relationship with our clients and hope to become their go to company for any of their detailing needs. One of the things that sets us apart from others is we have a %100 satisfaction guarantee, we think that our work is some of the best on the market so we don’t want you to pay unless you are happy with it. Another thing that sets us apart is that we are insured and licensed, which most small places are not. That guarantee that if anything were to happen to your vehicle with us you would be protected. The last thing that sets us apart is that we are mobile, we can bring you the best quality work on the market right to your door-step.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
The way I view risk-taking is: why not take it? You only have one life, and it’s a waste of your potential not to work toward your ideal life. In my opinion, there are objectively good and bad risky opportunities. For example, spending your entire life savings on lottery tickets isn’t a good opportunity. However, taking your income into your own hands and building something like a business is a good opportunity.
I’m a big advocate for always betting on yourself and taking the risk on that business idea. I believe the pros heavily outweigh the cons when it comes to building a business. The pros include: you make the rules, you decide how much money you can make, you meet all the cool and interesting people in your community, and you build something that is meaningful to you. The cons? You might go back to school or work a 9-to-5 job like everyone else.
The way I see it, the real risk is giving up your ideal life to settle for a life of mediocrity. Why not take the chance to create something extraordinary?
