Hi April, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2015, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey with Beautiful Struggle, offering luxury hair and accessories for men and women. As the business evolved, I decided to expand its scope beyond mere product sales, instead focusing on building a brand that would positively impact communities. This vision led to the creation of Women on the Rise, a collaborative initiative with another young entrepreneur, dedicated to supporting small businesses and promoting community recognition. Through our travels and public speaking engagements, we inspired positivity and fostered support among fellow entrepreneurs. In 2019, Beautiful Struggle continued to grow, expanding its product line with the launch of a beauty supply store spa and a Skincare line in Hazelwood, Missouri. Our spa offered a range of services tailored to skin and body wellness. By 2023, I recognized the need to pivot and rebrand, resulting in the transformation of Beautiful Struggle into Be-U Beauty, a holistic spa focused on mental and spiritual healing and a natural skincare product line. This strategic shift has facilitated my personal growth, while also propelling the success of my podcast, Be-U by April, launched in 2023. The podcast has become a vital outlet for sharing my spiritual journey and the process of rebranding, allowing me to connect with others and cultivate transparency.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Throughout my entrepreneurial endeavors, I have encountered numerous highs and lows, affecting both my mental well-being and time allocation. Trust issues with employees and clients have arisen, but I have remained resolute.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a licensed esthetician and Reiki Master based in St. Louis, Missouri, I specialize in addressing the physical and spiritual aspects of the body. My passion for meditation and healing drives my commitment to helping others achieve optimal well-being. I firmly believe that health is a vital investment, and I am dedicated to guiding others in maintaining their overall wellness. I am proud to have launched my podcast, Be-U Beauty, which offers a glimpse into my personal journey.

Luck is not something I believe in; destiny is. I am a firm believer in divine timing and the vision that God has bestowed upon me.
