Daily Inspiration: Meet Alonna Gibson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alonna Gibson

Hi Alonna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I got started acting in elementary school just in anything the theatre had to offer. I always loved the stage and danced when i was younger and performing hs always been something I loved. When i got to middle school I began choir which led to an even bigger love for performing and a whole new level of comfortability in front of an audience. Still involved in plays, I went into highschool itching to dive right into anything they offered. Plays, musicals, one acts, I joined the thespian troupe and of course continued with choir. My highschool experience gave me so many tools i still use today. The confidence i gained after climbing my way to chamber choir and thespian president really solidified my passion. So I continued to do anything I could when I started at community college. I came from a pretty broke family so balancing school theatre and work when I started college was rough. I ended up having to take some time off to save up and that’s when modeling was presented to me. I did my first photoshoot for a jewelry company with my big sister and fell in love with a whole new aspect of performing. Ever since I have worked to find any and every modeling opportunity possible while still maintaining a full time job to keep me afloat.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are really rough times where it feels like there is nothing left for me and where i feel like my time came and gone. But those are always fleeting thought of fear and I still today work as hard as i can to get as many jobs possible! I am fully financially responsible for myself. Which can be really hard. Always having an updated wardrobe, making sure i am able to afford travel if needed. Time is also hard. I have to work my day job to make money and not every modeling/acting job is paying the bills. Also knowing the right people to help move anything along is important and hard since not everyone has the best interest in mind.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love fashion, I love to act, I have always been told I have IT. I feel I m most known for how I dress and the modeling I do. I am most proud of my work ethic. I really have almost quit so many times but I just refuse to let it happen. I feel I am special and I will be something big one day. I may not be the best, but I know everything will work in my favor. I truly feel like I am just a unique individual. I love deeply I work hard and I am just living with no regrets, whatever happens, wherever I end up. Honestly, I don’t know what sets me apart. I was in awe to even get the opportunity to tell my story. But I just know I am special in ways others aren’t.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up with 6 sisters and 1 brother with a single parent and my great grandma & grandpa caring for us was quite interesting. If you were to ask my mom she would say I was very outgoing and loved to dance and make anyone laugh. I was the most dramatic emotional kid (and adult lol) ever. I was a very out there child. Always loved music and dancing and my siblings and I are all extremely close so there was never a dull moment in the house.
