Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Fowler
Hi Olivia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey with makeup started back in the sixth grade, eye liner right before skating at Rock Roll-O-Arena. I would experiment with whatever I had, like tissue, Vaseline, foundation, and lipstick, to create special effects like wounds. Over time, that love for creativity grew into a passion for transformation, whether it’s crafting a stunning glam look or a full-on zombie makeover. Makeup has always been my art form, and I love bringing visions to life, no matter the style. It’s not just about beauty; it’s about telling a story through every look I create.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve been lucky to have a strong support system throughout my journey in makeup, but it hasn’t always been easy. Starting at a young age, it often felt like a hurdle. Many people, both in and outside the industry, didn’t take me seriously. When I got my first professional gig just in my early teens, it was intimidating to work alongside adults with much more experience. Looking back, I’m proud that I stayed committed to something I loved, even when it felt challenging.
When I earned my esthetician license, I faced a new set of challenges. Beauty school was an enjoyable experience overall, but like any environment, it had its moments of negativity. Those experiences taught me a lot about staying focused and not letting outside opinions affect my progress. Over time, I’ve come to believe that comparison is truly the thief of joy, and focusing on my own path has made all the difference.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Although makeup is my primary medium, I also explore other art forms, mainly photography and graphic art. My heart has always been drawn to fashion, and I’m actively working toward building a career in the industry. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with photographers worldwide, helping bring their creative visions to life. Travel is also a major factor for me and a goal I hope to intertwine with my artistry.
While I’m still discovering my signature style, my makeup tends to lean editorial, though I also enjoy crafting classic glam looks for those who prefer timeless beauty. As a licensed esthetician, I offer additional services such as brow tinting, back cupping, and more.
What truly sets me apart is my creativity. I fully embrace the term “makeup artist” and approach every project as an opportunity to create art.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
