Today we’d like to introduce you to Rain Fozzard
Hi Rain, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Growing up I knew whatever I decided to spend my life doing, I wanted to be around and helping other people. I had my daughter when I was 19 which put my original plans of being a nurse on the back burner because doing it all alone is HARD. I spent years trying to find myself and a way to express my creativity without doing something I knew I’d get burnt out on. Life unfortunately led to some less than ideal situations and it’s honestly what I needed to finally push myself to take a risk and invest in myself and our future. One day I signed up for nail courses and bought everything I needed and dove right in. I’ve had amazing support from so many friends and even strangers that have been with me since day 1 and constantly help me practice and improve. There is still so much to learn but I’ve never been more proud of myself for finally investing in ME
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say the hardest thing about this entire process is finding ways to be constantly marketing and building clientele. There is a lot of competition and judgment in the beauty industry and I just really want to find ways to make people feel pretty without feeling pressured.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an independent nail tech that specializes in acrylics and nail art. I’m almost a year into my journey so honestly I’m proud of anything I’m able to do and just seeing my growth.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Stay focused and stay disciplined. There will be so many things that could easily discourage you, but don’t let comparison to others make you feel you’re not where you should be.
