Today we’d like to introduce you to Samia Anya
Hi Samia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Alright, so my journey with hair really started when I was about 10 years old, doing my little sisters’ hair. My momma’s been a hairstylist for most of my life, so I grew up in salons, surrounded by the smell of hairspray, the sound of blow dryers, and the hustle of women transforming themselves. Funny enough, I didn’t even want to do hair at first. It just wasn’t something I saw for myself. But life has a way of pulling you into what you’re good at, you know?
In college, I realized I could make some extra money doing hair on the side. It was the perfect side hustle—something I could always fall back on. People were always asking me to braid them up or do their quick weaves, and it just clicked. Plus, I’ve always loved switching my hair up, so it made sense to use my skills to help others feel just as confident.
Fast forward to 2022, I stumbled into the world of content creation. I was scrolling online one day and realized people were getting wigs for free just by reviewing them. I thought, “Hold up, I can do this!” I started posting about wigs, sharing tips, and showing how to finesse installs. It combined everything I loved—hair, creativity, and a little hustle—and the response was wild. That’s how I became a wig influencer and content creator.
Now, I’m in a place where I’ve turned my passion into something bigger than I ever imagined. I still do hair, I create content, and I’m building a business that lets me bring beauty and confidence to people while keeping my creativity flowing. It’s been a journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. The road has definitely had its bumps. One of the biggest struggles for me has been learning balance. Juggling content creation, running a business, working full-time, and still making time for my family isn’t easy. Then there’s all the behind-the-scenes work people don’t really talk about—figuring out how to edit, market yourself, and actually make money from your passion. That part has been a whole learning curve.
And honestly, staying motivated can be tough. When you’re on a journey that only you can really see through, it’s easy to doubt yourself or feel stuck. There’ve been times where I’ve wondered if I’m even on the right path. But I remind myself why I started, and I keep pushing. It’s definitely not smooth, but every struggle has taught me something, and that’s what keeps me going.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a hairstylist and content creator specializing in wig content. I teach people how to install wigs, share tips, and give honest reviews on affordable options so they can slay on any budget. I’m also known for my bold hair colors—I can and will rock any color, and I love showing people how to step out of their comfort zones with their looks.
What I’m most proud of is my growth and resilience. This hasn’t been an easy journey, but I’ve stayed true to myself and kept pushing forward. What really sets me apart is my authenticity and personality. I keep it 100 at all times, and people naturally gravitate toward me because of that. Plus, one thing I’m always gonna do is make people laugh. Whether I’m sharing tips, reviews, or just living my life, I bring realness and humor to everything I do.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that I’m the only person responsible for making my dreams come true. If I don’t know something, I have to go learn it, or I’ll stay in the dark. If I don’t have something, I have to go out and get it, or I just won’t have it. At the end of the day, nobody’s coming to save me or do the work for me—it’s all on me. That mindset has kept me grounded and focused, even when things get tough.
