Hi Imani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After escaping a very abusive marriage, I spent a few months homeless with 2 girls. In search of resources, there were no quality resources available for my 2 girls. I made a vow to help people who experienced trauma and hard times with quality resources to assist them to stability. Health &:wellness is a key component to wholeness.
Our non profit decided to build a social enterprise by purchasing LIA health & Wellness. We provide red light therapy, kangen water, pure supplements, and wellness coaching to the Soulard and surrounding area. The first minority own Health & wellness business in Soulard with the FDA registered red light therapy bed miracle 5040.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Besides over coming my own negative mindset about whether or not I deserve to be successful, I had to over come the lack of support from a community I love so much, while understanding the struggle of trust.
It’s taken
years of rebuilding strength, security and faith to overcome a past full of trauma & hurt.

Love in Action health & wellness was created to offer the urban community wholeness by providing quality near infrared treatments, quality akalinic water to help balance ph levels, high quality supplements & wellness coaching. Also our NPO, Love In Action Inc, is known for not only providing quality resources but making sure people know they are valued & loved. This is what I’m most proud of. When people come through the door of LIA health & wellness they can expect to be treated with love, respect and care. All the while receiving top of the line service. Self care is not selfish.. it’s the lesson I learned and now is the lesson I teach, love & live.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My view on taking risk is if it’s going to help others yet seems to big for me, it probably is. But I tap into my faith and God and move toward it anyway. Even if I don’t understand and even if I’m scared. I took a risk opening a business with nothing but a heart for people and a dream to provide a service to help others. To help my family and to create a stream of income that would allow me to hire from my community and empower the next generation. The bigger the risk the greater the impact
