Inspiring Conversations with Sean Green of SGPN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Green.

Hi Sean, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When we started the Sports Gambling Podcast in 2011. We continued to do episodes, primarily for our own enjoyment in the beginning but it began to develop a following. Over the years, the podcasts slowly grew into SGPN the Sports Gambling Podcast Network home to 15 different podcast feeds and over 50 blog contributors.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It certainly wasn’t a smooth road. In the early stages of the podcast, we were dealing with a lot of issues surrounding finding an audience and figuring out how to monetize. As we figured out how to monetize, we were able to purchase better-sounding equipment. The monetization also allowed us to bring in more contributors as we shaped our network.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
SGPN is short for the Sports Gambling Podcast Network. We specialize in entertaining sports gambling content. Right now, there are a ton of people in the space creating sports gambling content that is dry and not engaging. Our content separates itself by keeping it funny and entertaining. A lot of people charge for sports gambling content and we keep ours free.

I’m most proud of our interview series with Bill Burr, Bill is one of my comedic icons and to have him on our show talking sports and gambling has been a real highlight of the show. I want them to know that we just offered an SGPN app that they can find in the Apple App Store or Google Play store. It has all our picks, podcasts and access to our contests. All the content we make is completely free.

What makes you happy?
Making people laugh is something that makes me happy and our podcast is able to do that.
