Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Stemm.
Hi Paige, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story started accidentally. I had never really considered modeling as an option, even as a child. Once I had my daughter I had really become self-conscious, so I never really took pictures or wanted to be in front of a camera.
One day, at random I decided to take a few full body pictures. Once I did that I noticed that it actually made me feel pretty good about myself.. A few days later I went ahead and contacted a local plus size boutique in the area to see if they were ever looking for models. Again, at this point I wasn’t taking this seriously. Well, the boutique ended up reaching back out, saying that they were having an open call, and to come out and cast.
Sure enough, I went to the call, I got a callback for the show, and after the show the owner of the boutique asked if I would like to become part of their team as a brand ambassador. I of course said yes, still very surprised, but extremely happy nonetheless.
Once I started working with the boutique I started getting my foot in the door with other local designers and entrepreneurs. That first step really helped open me up to meeting so many amazing new people, and networking in the area. Since then I have worked with numerous designers, boutiques, and photographers,
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Honestly, my journey through the modeling world has been extremely amazing. I say this as humbly as I can, but most of what I have done so far has flowed to me effortlessly. I have put in the work, but it’s almost as if this is what I’m meant to be doing.
I haven’t experienced too many bumps in the road. Every now and then you’ll run into an issue, whether with pay or maybe even running into a creepy photographer, but that doesn’t happen too often.
My biggest issue at this point in time would be time. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. I am lucky enough to have such a supportive family to help me with my daughter, so I am a bit more flexible with my time, however, time is precious, so I do wish there was more.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do have a 9-5. I work for a company called LiveVox, and we are basically an Omni-Channel contact platform. Majority of my days consist of dialing out to our prospects and getting reports sent out.
My job is another thing that I’m extremely appreciative for. Since quarantine began, we have been able to work from home, so my work/home life balance is amazing.
With such an amazing balance, I am able to focus more on the entrepreneurial side of what I’m trying to lean towards. For the past few years, I have been working on different herbal remedies such as oil’s, tea blends, etc, so I am currently in the works of getting my personal business started up soon as well
What’s next?
Expansion! I speak life into my future manifestations, so I don’t want to prematurely say, however, expansion is the best way I can put it. My mind and life can change at any point in time, but for now, I do know that I want to succeed, in whatever it is I do.
I see myself growing with my modeling career, you know, getting signed, and seeing my photos in stores throughout the country. I see myself really focusing and putting all of my efforts into anything that I put my mind to. I see a beautiful bright future for my family down the road.
