Rising Stars: Meet Diamon Hawkins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diamon Hawkins.

Hi Diamon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my journey in the beauty industry right out of high school but had to pause the journey due to my going to college. Once I finished my first two semesters Covid hit, and I had nothing ut time to focus on myself and my dreams. I was inspired to start my own cosmetics line HighSadity Cosmetics, which then blossomed into me finding a passion for hairstyling.

During the pandemic, I started looking into cosmetology school and what I could do to accomplish my dreams. Once I got enrolled in school I started off building my makeup and hair portfolio, which is continually growing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been smooth; but it wasn’t always this way. I faced a few financial challenges that helped me to hustle harder for what I want.

I quit my full-time job mid-way through beauty school, to build my business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am set apart from a lot of other beauty entrepreneurs because I am a one-stop-shop; I specialize in a variety of different beauty services that include make-up, hairstyling, and lash/brow services. I am proud of all my achievements including starting my brand, about to graduate beauty school, etc.

What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are to open my full-service salon before January 2022.
