Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy Ferrara.
Hi Kathy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a stylist, make-up artist, on-camera spokesperson and a producer in the commercial print and video industry. I am also the founder of K.Ferrara Color.
It’s important to me that my polish is non-toxic because twelve years ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer. It was then that I started to learn about the various types of chemicals that health and beauty products contain and those toxins are absorbed by our bodies. I wanted to make sure my products were safe as well as being super high quality and luxurious.
One of my favorite things about my business is that my mom and dad do all of my shipping! The shipping department is set up in the lower level of their home, so it’s truly a family company!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have definitely been struggles, but I think having a positive attitude really helps. I really think of any struggles, challenges, or mistakes that I’ve made as learning curves. I try to be gentle with myself and know that I’m doing my best every day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Because of my background as a make-up artist and stylist, my polish colors are very curated. I’ve spent many hours on each color. Combining that with the fact that they are a 10-FREE formula, which means that they are free of the 10 most harmful chemicals that are in most polish brands, really makes my line different and sets it apart from others.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
I love following female entrepreneurs. Rachel Rodgers is one of my favorites. Also, to keep current on all things beauty and female founder-related, my favorite podcast is Obsessed with then Best with Alex and Tina.
