Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Green.
Hi Morgan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am an esthetician at Lark Skin Co. where I now provide people with relaxing, healing, and personalized skincare treatments! I officially became a licensed esthetician in March of 2021. Going back to where it all started would be high school. I was contemplating what I wanted to do, where I wanted to go, what I wanted to study, then I came to the realization that college wasn’t for me. I dove into research about trade school and why that can be so beneficial to young adults.
I’ve always loved skincare and I was always wanting to try something new and learn something new for my own skin! So, to esthetician school, I went! After telling my teachers and peers in high school everyone was shocked. I was on track to go to college taking AP classes and visiting schools, but I just wasn’t able to solidify what I wanted to do. Becoming an esthetician was the greatest thing that happened to me because it combined love for skincare, but more importantly fulfilled my desire to help people.
So, I went to school full time with an amazing group of women who I learned from and grew with. After graduation, I became a licensed esthetician and continued working a restaurant job until I found Lark Skin Co. Now, I am doing what I love surrounded by amazing women who have so much knowledge and always support me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say the biggest struggle was at the beginning of my journey to becoming an esthetician with the societal pressure to go to college and the desire to make my family proud of me, it was a hard decision as an eighteen-year-old to choose a different path. After making this decision, St. Louis shut down for Covid, which made things even more complicated.
The school I was planning on attending closed during this time and I was no longer able to begin school when I originally planned. However, now I know that everything happens for a reason because later that year I started at a different beauty school and finally became a licensed esthetician.
This helped me learn that not every outcome has to follow a straight line, which helped me after graduation in finding a job. The greatest thing I could have learned from this experience is that everything truly does happen for a reason!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being an esthetician at Lark Skin Co. has been the most amazing journey ever. I have already been able to learn and grow as an esthetician and person. That being said, Lark Skin Co. is an amazing small business located in Webster Groves.
Lark provides individuals with clean and natural skincare that gives results and beautiful glowing skin. As an esthetician at Lark, my goal is to educate people on their skin, but also be a guide to help them work from within. At Lark Skin Co. I provide holistic skincare services and lash services! I am most proud of my ability to create a warm and welcoming environment while being able to give people what they need at such a young age.
What sets me apart from others would have to be the same thing! I have such a desire to be able to help people, but also give them everything I know, while I am still able to continue my education and growth as an individual. I strive to create an environment where people feel like they can transform their skin and who they are!
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future would have to be meeting new people. I have walked into an amazing part of my life at Lark Skin Co., and I want to be in this moment for as long as I can to learn, absorb, and grow as an esthetician and person, but also introduce as many people as I can to natural skincare.
