Hi Rafael, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was given a second chance through Art. I was supposed to die in prison but art helped me change my whole thinking pattern to a positive one and at the same time opened the doors to freedom from a 55-year bid.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it was not a smooth road because doing a 55-year bid is hard on the mind. But when art found me it helped me see the tree and not get lost in the forest.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an Artist that specializes in oil and Acrylic paint. I’m known for doing portraits that catches the soul of the person I’m painting. I’m proud that I found myself through Art and through it I freed myself from a 55-year bid. What sets me apart from others, is that I do my best to catch the character of the person I’m painting and not just the character.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The first person that I owe my life to is Guillermo Ibarra Martínez AKA Memo. See I knew how to paint but he thought me how to see the painting through my soul. And Mc Kev because he pushed me to paint and draw none stop.
