Daily Inspiration: Meet Jasmine Henderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Henderson.

Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always loved the beauty industry growing up. I vividly remember using the money I received from my high school graduation to buy a bulk supply of makeup so I could give makeovers to all the girls on the entire floor of my dorm at the University of Missouri. I worked at a department store makeup counter in college and my passion for skincare and makeup grew. After graduating from Mizzou, I moved to Burbank, California, to study at Make-Up Designory because I wanted to learn the best tricks of the trade in cosmetics while working up the corporate ladder in aesthetic sales. So, I packed up my little car and moved to the coast to learn from the experts.

While in California, I was introduced to a woman who changed the trajectory of my path forever. She is an incredible local physician who encouraged me to go back to school to study nursing. I honestly didn’t even think twice about changing my career path because I have always loved aesthetics and the idea of being a nurse injector seemed like a job that was literally made for me. I got accepted into an accelerated nursing program back home in Missouri and began working for a dermatologist. At the time, he wasn’t looking to hire a nurse injector. However, I just knew in my heart that I could work hard and prove that this job would be perfect for me. My hard work paid off and I had a wonderful career of nearly 10 years working for him and focusing on injections since 2014.

During this time I met Racquel Frisella. It was in 2015, during an advanced injectable training, and we instantly connected. She was a major influence in my career and an incredible mentor. All of my coworkers and patients in Springfield knew about Racquel because I was always sharing her latest tips and tricks in the industry. Fast forward to 2021 and I get a phone call from her. I will never forget the day she asked me to join her team. I remember telling my husband about our conversation and he just knew we had to move because I was bursting with happiness. I’m so thankful for his continued support and love for me and our family. We said goodbye to the most amazing support system, sold our home and moved to Chesterfield, Missouri, to join the grand opening of Racquel Aesthetics.

As you can see throughout my life, I’ve always been a dream chaser. I’ve always had big dreams and put in the work to make those dreams come true. Sometimes it takes a little longer than I want, but looking back it always makes sense. I love this quote, “Risk something or forever sit with your dreams.”

I hope I encourage all dreamers to take risks to make those dreams come true. Hard work pays off and I want to live a life that encourages my little girl to chase her dreams as well. I never want her to look back and say, “What if?”. I hope that I’m paving the way for her and all future generations to follow their dreams and persevere even when it’s hard, because it is so worth it in the end.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing great comes easy. I feel like when you persevere, your dreams come true. A verse that has always helped me during the struggles along the way, “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” I will repeat this over and over when I’m faced with challenges, and it gives me peace that the struggle is making me complete and perfect. It’s right when you think you want to give up that the clouds will clear and you see your rainbow.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an aesthetic nurse injector and skincare specialist. I specialize in injectables treating the entire face to enhance your natural features by creating contour and volume in areas that change as we age. I also create customized medical grade skincare regimens for patients both online and at the practice.

I am most proud of the relationships I have created over the years with my patients. I love instilling confidence in them by helping them love what they see in the mirror. When I can help someone truly feel beautiful by enhancing their features and education on medical grade skincare, it’s a life changer both for them and myself. I truly do love what I do and the relationships I create is by far the best part of my job.
