Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandace Johnson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a passion for health and wellness but it took me several years to truly understand my purpose. At first, I thought I wanted to be a fitness instructor and started hosting bootcamps but soon realized, I wasn’t fully connected to the work, so I stopped, and started helping family and friends with meal planning. The focus of my meal plans was to help people remove the word “diet” from their minds and understand, fueling your body with nutrient rich foods should be a lifestyle, not restrictive dieting and this, I still stand by. Even though I enjoyed meal planning, in my heart, I knew this wasn’t it because, again, I didn’t feel connected.
Years ago, before juicing became popular, I followed a health guru on YouTube and a part of his health journey was juicing fruits and vegetables. I purchased an inexpensive juicer from Wal-Mart and started juicing. After juicing consistently for a few weeks, I felt amazing! I had no idea what I was doing and my recipes weren’t the best but I enjoyed how I felt.
A few years after my first juicer purchase, I went to Ohio and visited my first juice bar. I will never forget that experience, I was in love! They had “grab and go” cold pressed juice and other healthy food options. In that moment, I knew I wanted to own a juice bar! I felt so excited but then, the negative part of my mind took over and I convinced myself, owning a juice bar was outside of my reach. So, I dismissed the thought and continued to search for my purpose, even though, it was already revealed.
5 years later, my husband purchased me a very nice juicer and started sending me videos of other juice bar owners and how they got started. I started watching the videos but with little interest because I was in school to become a health coach. I just knew I was placed on this earth to coach others on how to live a healthier lifestyle.
At the end of 2020, I started being intentional about self-care and doing a lot of inner self-work which included strengthening my relationship with God. During this process, I realized fear was the navigator of a lot of my decisions. I was afraid of failure, and this caused me to dismiss the thought of one day, I could own a juice bar. I am pleased to announce that fear is no longer in the driver’s seat and B Juiced Cold Pressed Juice Bar will launch May 2022!
Now, I am realizing, all of my previous adventures (for example, helping with meal planning and being a health coach) had purpose and prepared me for this very moment. At B Juiced, we will offer organic juices, smoothies, acai bowls and our mission is to create healthier communities one just at a time.
I am a firm, believer; everyone is put on this earth for a reason and we all are blessed with a God given talent but we have to identify what that gift is and not be afraid to share that gift with the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road and my biggest obstacle was fear. Fear of failure and not being able to execute my vision for B Juiced. The biggest lesson I have learned is to lean into my passion without fear or compromise.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside of B Juiced, I have always had a career that involves helping people in some way. My background is in Healthcare/Human Resources and Corporate Compliance. I truly believe, all of my experiences to include my professional career, has prepared me to walk in my dream which is to own a juice bar.
I am most proud of being brave enough to believe in myself and having faith in knowing, the gift I have will make a way for me. And, what sets me a part is my passion. I am truly passionate about helping people to live healthier lifestyles!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me are people and being able to offer a product/service that is honest, people focused, consistent and good. I truly believe the food we consume is making us sick and I want to be able to off-set that with B Juiced. I strongly stand behind the B Juiced mission which is to create healthier communities!
