Today we’d like to introduce you to Lando Lakess.
Hi Lando, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Well, I have always been in love with the game of basketball. It was an outlet for a social event. It was the thing to do amongst my peers. I grew up playing at Wholes and Matthew dickeys.
Got to high school and had the worst luck with injuries freshmen year had a broken arm and my sophomore summer I got hit in the eye with a rock, unfortunately, completing taking my vision in my right eye Ultimately ended all basketball dreams.
I got older and still found myself still attached to the game more than ever. I searched to find a way to stay connected but still try to make a living while helping the community. Therefore, I started a media platform to help kids that work hard on their craft to become more don’t get overlooked. I started summer of 2018, with no prior camera experience just me and “YouTube University” and a dream.
I bought my first camera Rebel t6 and since then I have been to multiple states filming everyone from the small guys to 5-star recruits. From famous YouTube influencers, but as of now I’m putting a team together, looking for a second home city for expansions and clothing merch coming soon!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has been a bumpy one for sure. I jumped into the industry with no proper experience. With very few contacts that believed in how serious I was.
I have got kicked off the sideline in some games. Crowds heckling me for standing in the way of the game recording. Even learning how to work a camera was one of the biggest obstacles. I had to work for respect in this business.
Getting media clearance has to be the most consistent obstacle but it’s just a part of the game. Surely have gotten better over time of me consistently working and proving that I’m here to stay on the basketball scene.

I specialize in sports media. I’m known for hustle sports the best hooper cameraman in the USA. I’m most proud of the direction I’m headed with my personal life and hustle sports.
Hustle sports are set apart because of the urban feel. We relate to the culture. We are the culture. We represent hard work and dedication to the hustle.
What do you think about luck?
Good luck because I stayed ready for opportunities and made the most of my situations. The best example of when I bought my camera the day before I had a spare 100 bucks and decided to go to the casino.
Won 1500 and immediately went home and ordered my first camera.
