Life & Work with Tierra Binford

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tierra Binford.

Hi Tierra, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I use exercise as a way to relieve stress and anxiety in which I build up from work. I like doing kettlebell workouts, crossfit style workouts, etc. I post them on instagram along with my meals. I want to use this as a way to build healthy habits and get rid of bad habits and eventually start studying to become a personal trainer or a certified health coach

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No. I would sometimes feel like not working out especially after 12 hour shifts, due to me feeling tired then on other days I just do it. The exercising is easy, but the nutrition part is difficult, but I am working on it. Just doing it one day at a time, cause small habits will eventually build into bigger ones.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am currently a diet tech at Barnes jewish hospital. I take patients orders according to their prescribed diets. This fall under the field that I went to school for. I graduated from Mckendree University with a bachelor degree in health promotion and wellness. Since then, I’ve been told various times that I have the skills needed to be successful in my career. So I use this to my advantage and use this as training to advance my knowledge in the different diets and gain experience working with different age groups
