Today we’d like to introduce you to Shai Lynn.
Hi Shai, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began singing at the age of two years old. I was in plays and singing at church as well. I went on to play the piano at 4. I continued singing in church, gospel choirs, bgvs for mainstream and local artists, and conventions as I grew older. I participated in competitions until I became an artist, but being an artist never crossed my mind. It was until I was in college and my now Husband talked to me about making singing a full-time thing (which I’ll have to let my track scholarship go) that I didn’t understand his thought process at the time. Instead of fighting about it all while being so afraid, I started working on my first single, and the rest is history.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t have anything to pinpoint. If the road was smooth, I doubt I’d want to head that way. I like rough situations. It builds character and a true artist/entertainer.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would like for the readers to know I’m not just a singer, entertainer, songwriter! I work in child care (family-owned advanced center). On the evenings and weekends, I’m a mom and a wife. I have to make time for my music throughout my evenings and weekends. Most days I’m whooped (as in sooooo tired) but I make sure I work on Atleast a song before I go to bed. I’m currently focused on the new records I’m about to release. I have a single dropping before this year is out, along with some dope visuals. It seems like forever since I dropped some music. I took a long break and I’m here to say I’m back and better.
What matters most to you? Why?
God because he’s the reason my gift has allowed me to touch different parts of this earth, and things are only getting better because of him.
