Hi Alicia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I live in St. Louis and my husband and I purchased The Wine & Cheese Place in 2019. In 2022 we opened Spirit Wine & Craft in STL city. During that time we noticed the charcuterie board explosion happening in our area and developed Shark You Terry! Say it 3 times fast. Now you’ve got what we’re all about, bringing gourmet boards and gifts to the people with a bit of humor and loads of YUM from the folks at the Wine & Cheese Place and Spirit Wine & Craft.
We have 5 locations in metro St. Louis (Clayton, Kirkwood, Creve Coeur, Town & Country, and Southampton). Because of our 40-year history of serving STL, we always want to be at the forefront of our customer needs. As we saw the charcuterie board craze take off, we looked at our gourmet cheese selection, artisanal meats, and house-roasted nuts and began offering cheeseboards to our customers in 2022. SharkYouTerry.com launched in early 2023.
We quickly realized that we offer something special; the highest quality meats and cheeses, hand cut, on demand, in-house, and at great prices. We also learned that customization and dietary preferences are key to enjoying charcuterie.
We aim to give the customer as many of those products as possible. Crackers come on the side. We use little filler or garnish. We weigh every board to ensure ample portion sizes. We want it to look beautiful and be easy and fun to eat. With this new site, we have 6 charcuterie offerings, which can be customized for those with allergies and dietary sensitivities, as well as dessert boards and individual single-serve cups! We also feature a small selection of wines that we sell at our Wine & Cheese Place/Spirit Wine & Craft stores and have gift box offerings that can be delivered locally or shipped nationally. You can pick up your party cheeseboard, dessert platter, and wine all at the same time from a trusted brand with great value and helpful service.

You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
You learn a lot – quickly! Our mission is to give customers a beautiful, delicious, easy-to-eat product. Convenience is key at every step of our process, from ordering, to pickup/delivery, to serving. We spent a lot of time figuring out which products to include, how to arrange them, and what to charge. It took many practice runs, hours of web development, and some fun taste testing to get it right. Our funniest mishap was when the palm leaf trays we ordered were not stored properly and kept breaking. Thankfully, we started keeping them in the fridge and haven’t had any trouble since. Fingers crossed!
As you know, we’re big fans of Shark You Terry. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
We are proud of our products. Our key pillars are value, service, and selection, and we deliver! We source the highest quality meats and cheeses from top producers and arrange them on beautiful, environmentally friendly palm leaf trays. We are transparent about how much food is on our boards and won’t use lots of filler or garnish.
Our cheeseboards come standard with manchego, sheep’s milk, and goat cheese. Neither contains cow’s milk. Need gluten-free crackers? You can have them at no extra charge. Our wines are sourced from The Wine & Cheese Place/Spirit Wine & Craft inventory, so we can proudly attest to their quality and value. Our gifts are hand packed and designed from years of corporate and personal gifting projects at The Wine & Cheese Place.
