Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylin Taylor.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I started my aesthetics journey shortly after COVID. During COVID, I found myself at a place I felt was “rock bottom.” My grades in college began to go downhill shortly after going virtual, and the stresses of becoming an adult worsened. After seeking therapy, I was advised to invest in self-care. From there, my waxing routine began. Eventually, I grew a bond with my Esthetician and enjoyed having someone to vent to, all while making myself feel whole again. This inspired me to attend Esthetician school. Shortly after receiving my Esthetician license in 2021, I decided to open my own waxing business, The Waxx Brat LLC!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I’ve had many struggles, from relocating and working for new clientele to recreating my brand. Working for new clientele is never easy, but moving from state to state may have made it ten times harder. It was like starting over. I moved Sept. 2022 and only had 35 clients that month; I would have normally had double that amount. So, after settling in Maplewood, MO, I began to want a different look for my brand, so the process started. However, after searching for months for a professional marketing agency, I finally found an agency I loved. But then, the struggles of making the ideas come to life were just as hard. After two months, this process is almost complete. Any business will have struggles, and I love going through the process of a good struggle because I know something great is waiting at the end of it all.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Licensed Esthetician specializing in facial and full-body waxing for women. I also offer Vajacials, facials for the bikini area given to help perfect the appearance of the skin. Through this process, I give professional and comforting experiences, all while teaching my clients about their skin and how to fix any skin concerns they may have. I am proud to have created a space where clients feel open and trust me with such intimate services. I want readers to find peace in knowing there is no such thing as perfect when it comes to skin. Your skin reflects your life’s story, so just as you should love your life as is, do the same with your skin!

My silent partner, Tiana Gilcrease, plays a huge part in my success story. I am beyond grateful for every way she has invested in my brand. I’m grateful to my waxing mentor, Kya Davis; I’m grateful for her because she introduced me to waxing and continues to support me. I am also beyond grateful for every client I have ever had, as well as anybody else who has supported me in any way. I have such a huge support group, and I am genuinely thankful.
