Rising Stars: Meet The Content Social St. Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Powell

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Content Social began with a shared vision between Michelle, Baylee, and me to create a space where content creators could thrive, connect, and be inspired. Michelle brought her extensive event planning experience, Baylee, a local influencer and founder of Fun by the Bay, added her creativity and talent for connecting with people, and I contributed my expertise in brand marketing from HALCON Marketing Solutions. We saw a need for more support, collaboration, and empowerment within the content creation community.

Our journey started with the idea of hosting exclusive events that were more than just parties. We wanted to create experiences that celebrated empowerment, creativity, and community. The turning point was “The Pink Party at the Posh Place,” inspired by the iconic Elle Woods. Baylee conceived the idea, Michelle helped organize it, and I rounded out the team, bringing a name to this wonderful initiative we were organically creating – The Content Social.

The Pink Party wasn’t just about mingling and networking; it was also about giving back. The proceeds benefited Girls in the Know, a St. Louis-based organization focused on empowering young girls and nurturing their confidence. Hosting the event on Give STL Day, a day dedicated to supporting local nonprofits, further emphasized our commitment to making a positive impact on the community.

We were passionate about fostering a sense of community among content creators, creating an environment where they could support one another, collaborate, and embrace each other’s creativity.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest obstacles we encountered was coordinating schedules among the three of us and the busy influencers we wanted to involve. As mothers of two young children each, wives, business owners, and career women, we were juggling planning this event along with all the other responsibilities in our lives. Finding a time that worked for everyone required a lot of flexibility, creativity, and text messages!

Despite these challenges, our passion for creating a supportive community for content creators kept us motivated, and we learned valuable lessons along the way. Ultimately, these obstacles tested our resilience and teamwork, making The Content Social stronger and more prepared for future events.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Content Social STL is a collective of passionate individuals dedicated to fostering creativity, collaboration, and community within the content creation industry. Our mission is simple: mix 50% content creation in exclusive, gotta-be-there spots with 50% fun vibes for networking and socializing. Through events like “The Pink Party at the Posh Place,” Content Social STL aims to empower creators, support local causes, and inspire a positive community.

What are your plans for the future?
The success of “The Pink Party at the Posh Place” is just the beginning of Content Social STL’s journey. We’re currently planning our next event in August, aiming to include even more content creators from all walks of life and involve more local businesses. By expanding our reach, we hope to further enrich the content creation community and strengthen our support for local causes. The Content Social was born from our shared passion for empowering creators, supporting local causes, and building a positive, inclusive community. We look forward to hosting many more events and partnering with additional local brands that share our vision. Our next event will be held on August 14 at the beautiful Pine Hollow in Eureka, MO. Stay tuned for theme and ticket information, which will be announced in the coming weeks. Here’s a hint: we’re ready for one SHELL of a time and look forward to SEAing you there!
