Check Out Brenna Milleville’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenna Milleville.

Hi Brenna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Did I ever think that I would be a Christian apparel designer and own my own business? Not quite- but here’s how it happened!

I was at a women’s event that my church was putting on with a friend. I decided to go really last minute, which is unlike me – I usually plan weeks ahead. It was a God thing. I walked in, and they were selling apparel. My friend and I walked over, but all they had were women’s smalls. We talked about what a bummer that was, and then we went into the auditorium.

The theme of the event was “Be Fearless” – and during the speaker’s talk, I heard a voice in my head, “You could start a Christian clothing company…” It came out of nowhere – and I couldn’t get it out of my mind. I thought about it on the drive home, and I talked to my husband about it the next day, and he said “Go for it.” And Elly and Grace was born!

So, I just started. I listened to podcasts; I did research. I sketched out what I would like to wear. I started ordering blank samples of clothing to see if I thought it was soft enough and fit well. I still remember getting my first order on Etsy. Six months later, we launched our own website, and we hired our first virtual employee.

After a month of working 7 days a week, we decided we had to move the business out of our basement and hire our first employees.

Since 2017, we’ve moved office spaces twice and now own our own building. We have a great local and remote team that helps us fulfill our mission of sharing God’s love with others. We print and ship all of our shirts in-house, and I design everything that we sell. We’ve sold over half a million shirts and inspired women and those who see them all over the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest challenges of the past year was navigating being a new mom and a business owner. In the past, I would work 60-80 hours a week during the busy times…but that wasn’t sustainable when my daughter Grace was born in January 2020.

I’m so blessed to have an incredible manager and an amazing team who love what they do. I have part-time childcare and work part-time, and I’ve always been a bit of a control freak. But God really showed me the importance of trusting others and delegating. It’s really hard to give up control in some situations, but God has shown me that it’s always worth it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I primarily design all of the Christian apparel and accessories that we sell at Elly and Grace. We are known for printing all of our apparel ourselves (instead of outsourcing it), our customer service, and our comfortable items.

I would say my greatest joy is that we have shipped over half a million shirts all over the world- because each shirt creates so many opportunities for the wearer to have a conversation about the gospel.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
We sell Christian Apparel (Infant – 4XL), Sterling Silver & 14 kt. Gold-Filled jewelry, hand-poured soy candles, hand-lettered stickers and encouraging postcards.

We sell all of our items online at, and we offer wholesale for brick-and-mortar stores!
