Check Out LaToya Nelson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Nelson.

Hi LaToya, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always been a creative, ambitious, and motivating person with purpose as a little girl. I been known to push others to do creative things by helping them or creating solutions to get them done, more of a strategist. I kept a journal, writing things down, praying, and checking them off my list when they happened and didn’t really share my thoughts with others.  I felt rejected due to the fact, most people thought I was insane because I thought far ahead of my time. I now realize this was all “prepared purpose” or shall I say predestined visions. I didn’t really understand either until I was taught. The key was, I believed , no matter what nobody else thought! I have two beautiful children 14 & 11 one being autistic and creative in his way, the other is a self-taught video editor and vlogger at 11 years old. They are God’s gift to me!!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not!! When people see you as a positive influence. It try’s to weigh heavy on you. When public humiliation happens, the same people who support you begin throwing darts at you because they expect you to be perfect. However, the truth in the matter is I’m human, nobody is perfect and I make mistakes. BUT God redeemed me from anger and people, and I learned that by staying true to my shortcomings and asking God to work on me instead of always Toya trying to fix folks (LOL). I can humbly live a lifestyle that represents the fixer (Jesus) and not who people except you to be. I’ve been married and divorced and married again, then widowed. Is my life over? NO. I’m just now starting to live without fears, without doubt, and without any regrets by embracing everything that God has called me to be and do!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Let me see if I can sum it up. I do so much. I have served my career in Technology for 16 years; I advocate for special needs students by serving as President. I’ve been a salon owner since 1999 and a licensed cosmetologist working in this profession. Serving and ministering to clients is my passion and purpose. My salon, An Angels Touch Studio Salon, serves as a brand ambassador for Women Without Fears Inspirational Gear, where I am the creative designer for all the inspirational t-shirt designs. Local consumers can shop or pick up orders directly from this location. I also do custom inspirational designs only. I am a self-published author, “Women Without Fears Prepared Purpose,” for which I’ve sold over 3000 copies, and it’s labeled teachable in the Kingdom of God. I’m also the Founder/CEO of the NonProfit Women Without Fears. I am proud of everything I do, especially my logo. That’s a whole story by itself (smiles). It represents where I come from and how I choose to lift my hands and worship God because without Him I’m nothing. I’m showing my children that your unique creativity can draw who you are suppose to reach.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
