Check Out Michaela Griffin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michaela Griffin.

Hi Michaela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It’s almost as though I stumbled into the world of videography but it was my actual calling. I started my journey on YouTube while I was a senior in college attending UMSL. I soon fell in love with the art of editing videos. It gave me such a rush to see how I could put stories together. Once I noticed that it was my true calling as a content creator and videographer, I decided to invest in a better camera and learn as much as I could.

I filmed my very first wedding in September of 2018 and never looked back. I’ve niched my business down to weddings, events and commercials but weddings are my absolute favorite to film. I love creating a love story for my couples to watch for generations to come. The smile on their faces brings me so much joy and it reminds me of why I got into this business in the first place. I love making videos that they will never forget.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has been such a journey. There were plenty of nights where I cried myself to sleep. I knew in my heart that this was what I wanted to do but I didn’t have the tools or money to invest. In 2019, I decided to take a leap of faith and go into business full time. It was a struggle because I was still building my clientele and my skills. Six months later, I decided to swallow my pride and go back to the job I left but I never took my eyes off the prize. There were times where I wanted to give up but I prayed and kept telling myself that I will become successful. I truly believed that I’m back doing what I love to do full time and I absolutely love it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in wedding videography. I’ve always loved attending weddings and now I go to them for a living. I’m known for being passionate about my craft and always wanting the best out of life.

I am most proud of the woman I’ve become throughout my entrepreneur journey. I’m more confident. I put myself out there. I’m not afraid of rejection. I’m a strong black woman in business and nothing will ever stop me from reaching my goals. I’m proud of myself for making it this far. What sets me apart from others is that no one is me. No one can edit like Michaela. No one can talk to a client like Michaela can. Only I can do certain things that attract my clients to me because no one else shares my same life story and passion.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Sure. I’d love to collaborate.
