Conversations with Kevin Kramer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Kramer. Them and their team share their story with us below:

The Kramer family, spearheaded by their father, Linzie Kramer, and his three sons (Kevin, Rob, and Todd), founded the whole body cryotherapy industry in North America by opening the first retail alternative health and wellness center in Northern CA (Roseville) in April of 2011. The company (US Cryotherapy) has since expanded to 5 Corporate-owned locations and 15 franchised-owned locations nationwide, with one of our franchised units in Studio City, CA. The industry has emerged over the last decade with various competitors. Still, US Cryotherapy remains a leader in the space with the most recognized brand for quality care and outcomes, safety, and sustainable pricing to meet our customer’s needs.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Building a business is a startup industry has presented many obstacles. The biggest has been consumer awareness, and recognition of the care and outcomes US Cryotherapy delivers to people with acute and chronic pain, recovery from workouts and training, reductions of stress and anxiety, and improvements in pain, inflammation, mood, energy, and skin. Cold shock therapy has been studied for two decades in Europe with medical indications for rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic inflammatory skin conditions. Though the devices and treatments are not FDA approved in the US, the outcomes are substantial, and the safety record of US Cryotherapy is impeccable, having administered over 4 million sessions with very minimal adverse events. People unfamiliar with whole body cryotherapy still need to understand what centers like ours can do for their health and wellness and the value of US Cryotherapy in the industry compared to competitors.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I have spent my entire professional career in healthcare. I spent two decades in clinical and product development and payer pathways in Big Pharma. In 2011, our family founded the cryotherapy industry under the US Cryotherapy brand. I quickly transitioned to the CEO of US Cryotherapy to grow the industry and our brand. We have done more good in helping people feel better naturally and live younger, more active lives than I felt I ever accomplished in the pharmaceutical industry. I am proud that the Kramer family took a chance on alternative health and wellness and new technology to deliver all-natural recoveries.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Linzie Kramer (1940-2017) was the idea man behind the technology and business concept. He discovered retail wellness centers in Europe in 2010 and brought the idea to his sons (Kevin, Rob, and Todd). From day one, we have worked together as a family with the sole mission of creating a great health and wellness center model that could help people feel better and recover faster. Through difficult business expansion times and the pandemic impact on retail services businesses, we have remained united behind the concept that we help people feel better. We continue to be driven by our customers’ testimonials and pride ourselves on being the brand recognized as the leader in customer care, safety, and outcomes.
