Today we’d like to introduce you to Cook CrVk.
Hi Cook, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Awe, man, where did I lay the first brick for this? I would say I got serious with music in 2009, and I upgraded in 2010. I’d say 2011, and I joined this crew in st. I think Charles, just like 6 of us, is trying to make our sound. 2011 I joined a dope crew of dope ass artists called The Collective Failure, and we made some dope ass music. It’s still out today on sound cloud. 2012 I went solo on my change my name to just Cook and had my own thing goin still was doing showing the link with people like LT Johnson and Frost Money, But I was making music, nothing solid, yet I ducked off for a while, then came back in 2018 name was still Cook around this time. No CrVk yet, but I was dropping singles. Still finding my sound and figuring out what lane I want to make or be in.
2020 – 2022 was when it got real serious. You couldn’t sit with me if you were playing games with you’re craft cause I meant something to mine and stood on it. That’s when I told myself there are no rules in music. It’s a free world. You create yo Lil part of yo world in this music scene and let visitors come to you, and if they choose to make a home there, that’s cool too. I got here with a lot of help and blessings from The Highest. So many names I couldn’t say because I’d feel bad if I left anybody out. I appreciate the experience and gains that they all have given me. it means a lot when it’s a village behind you
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all, from trying to find a home studio that gives me the vibes I like. Losing one’s you thought would be by yo side every step of the way at every show. Even real-life would affect my mindset on my music at times. It’s days that I still get a Lil messed up about that legit ain’t with me, but that growth on its own.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Outside out music I love to paint and draw. I’m heavy in the anime world. I’ve turned all animes. I paint into black people, given I know many of us that watch it as well as my kids. I’ve heard I’m an influencer. I like to spread positive energy with the ones at my table and tables. I tend to eat with, as well as individuals that want to progress in the right way for what they stand for. I’m most known for always having a good time and laughing, oh and the yellow bucket hat can’t forget it. I’m most proud of my first official titled Capsule I.
I would say what sets me apart is that I’m me. I try to bring my everyday to life. Sometimes it’s a movie, and sometimes it’s an episode from a show, others a trailer. I dig deep with my bars and don’t feel like some artists do that. More like super gremlin lol I will forever love-hate that song now. I let it be known who I am and what I am in every line, song, and feat.
What are your plans for the future?
Plans for the future. I want to connect to some heavy hitters in the Lou and the new and upcoming ones because they keep me hype for real. I don’t know if I’ll be a “singles” type artist. I’ll let music samples out fashion, but I always want to have projects to give, big it small. I’ve got two already in my head, and production on the next one has already started any big changes. Only time will tell. I can say I’ve been getting a lot of blessings, I’m grateful for that; I thought I’d never get.
