Today we’d like to introduce you to Davanieah Seals.
Davanieah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always enjoyed creating beautiful and memorable spaces. In 2005, I decided to pursue my dreams as an event planner and started Glam Productions in California. However, I quickly found out that having a business was not as easy as I thought. I had a lot of ups and downs due to not having resources and support. However, after relocating to St. Louis and having my daughter and organizing her birthday parties and house events during the Covid-19 pandemic, I found that I still had a passion for entertaining and decorating so I put all my eggs in one basket and revamped Glam Productions into Memories Made Events. It has not been an easy road as I still have a lot of obstacles, but my passion for curating events is what keeps me going and pushes me to put more into my business and fulfilling my dreams of being a successful business owner.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No! Some of the struggles I had and continue to have is setting myself apart from others who have been in this business longer than I have. Resources in the beginning was a challenge. The road to creating a business is never a smooth journey especially in event planning there are different trends and you have to be ready and able to jump on those trend trains at all times or your work will go unnoticed.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I curate memorable events for my clients. The services I offer are curated to the client’s needs. I provide event decorations, event planning, as well as my new favorite service, especially during picnic season is luxury pop-up picnics where I create the perfect plush picnic experience. What sets me apart from others is my ability to turn a client’s dream event into reality. Curating memories and not just events. That is definitely my specialty.
How do you define success?
I define success as turning struggles into success. What I mean by that is that not all struggles or obstacles are bad and turning them into learning experiences to use to better myself and my business etiquette is what is going to continue to make me and my business successful.
