Today we’d like to introduce you to Jawana Hammonds.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
Motivating/Encouraging others is my true passion because I know from life experiences that natural support can positively affect an individual’s life. Throughout my life journey, I have encountered experiences encouraging me to be transparent and motivate others. Lived experiences often position us to reflect on the cause and effect of personal situations. My services involve utilizing a person-centered approach involving reflections regarding life experiences and motivational vibrations. The mission of Metamorphosis Coaching & Consulting Services, LLC is dedicated to creating a trusting atmosphere that encourages personal growth where “Change” is “Inevitable” when “Motivation” is provided in a supportive manner. Our vision is to work collaboratively with individuals to encourage, motivate, and support self-resiliency.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Although I had dreamed of starting my business for quite some time, I stepped out on faith right before the 2020 pandemic arrived. I now realize that when something is destined to start in your life, nothing can stop it! During the initial establishing process, I often had to remind myself how important self-care is daily. I do not consider this a challenge or an obstacle, but self-care is a must if I plan to be available to motivate and encourage others. I often say, “My self-care is non-negotiable at this point in my life!” This allows me to work towards being present to the best of my ability to help others overcome/tackle obstacles.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My professional/career journey has involved working in the Human Services/Social Work field since the late 1990s. I have received my Bachelor’s degree in the Arts from Fontbonne University and my Master of Social Work degree from George Warren Brown at Washington University. I graduated from Webster Groves High School.
My career experience has involved working in the behavioral/mental health field to help children, youth, adults, and families overcome life obstacles. I am currently a Project Director working on mental/behavioral health projects. I am also an Adjunct Professor teaching in the field of Human Services. I have been a Field Instructor for Social Work interns for several years and enjoy seeing other professionals pursue their career goals.
Coaching/Consulting has allowed me to coach individuals throughout their life goal processes. Overall, my professional/career journey reflects my passion for motivating/encouraging others to be their best version.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I have learned throughout life is to look at every life experience as an opportunity to build a stronger foundation to persevere and accomplish short/long term goals. Life experiences, good or bad, provide us with teachable moments to reflect on and re-position ourselves to be a better version of “self.” I remind myself of this daily.
