Today we’d like to introduce you to Kanisha Hayden.
Hi Kanisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The inspiration started with my mom Lekisha, who had been creating body butters for about two years to sell to a small group of close friends. My sister, Anisha and I wanted in on the action, too, and we both took our own creations lip gloss- Kanisha and sugar scrub- Anisha. We all merged together and created Kulture LLC on July 14th of 2019.
Today, we are thinking of new ways to modify our business and new products we can bring to our customers. We strategize ways we can change our website, deals and sales, products and things that would be more appealing to current and new customers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, our road has not been smooth due to us constantly learning ways we can make our business better. We had to keep putting our toes into the water and take out to adjust. We had to make a lot of trial and error to know what works best for us as a whole. There were times where we had little to no orders and we lost a little motivation. We had to tell ourselves that we have to keep going because there’s also going to be times where business is slow. The only thing that we can do is adjust a figure out ways to attract more customers, whether is a sale or offering new products.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a high school senior about to enter college and I work a retail job. I am known for being one of the most hard-working individual in school and at work. I am proud of my work ethic and my determination. I believe that is what sets me apart from others.
Can you talk about how you think about risk?
I think that risk-tasking is something that is worth taking if you think it could adjust and believe that you make it a successful idea. Taking risks is something you do to achieve a goal no matter what challenges you may face. It could help you become resilient because you learn different things along the way. I had taken a major risk when I started this business because I didn’t know much on how to start a business and what was required. I had to leap into this journey with the knowledge that I already had. Over time I learned different things that helped the business in the long run.
