Daily Inspiration: Meet Tashawn Loving

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tashawn Loving.

Hi Tashawn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Tashawn Dominique Loving. A lot of people know me as Dominique or Nique. I started selling lashes out of the trunk of my car for a year while I was working as a Medical Labtech at a local hospital. I had built a clientele so big that I could sell anything. Right after I decide to add clothing and accessories. Maybe a good 3 months after it was so hectic, unorganized, and too much product to have in my car.

My job goes on to say we are furloughing you for 3 months because of COVID. I didn’t receive unemployment till a month after being out of work. I decided to invest my savings into opening my business. That time I risked everything and didn’t know for sure if everything would go as planned.

So, I prayed about it every day and I stepped out on faith. During the 3 months, I opened my own boutique. I rented a suite that was about the same size as my bedroom at home. I was stressed out, but I never stopped. I just knew it would be very successful.

Grand opening day was September 15th, 2020, with no money in my pocket but the opening was a successful opening. My job called me back in to work and I decided not to go back because my business was booming. and the hours they had me schedule would interfere with my business hours. My boss asked me, “Tashawn do you think your business will make it through Covid?” I said yes & I walked out that day.

I was at my first location for a year. Something traumatic happened to my business so I found my new location in Fairview Heights, IL in October 2020. My dream store and it is nice. 250 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq ft in a week. Minor back for a major come up. It was an upgrade for sure. Opened my new store with no money in my pocket again, lol. Insurance money 100% invested back into the new store. Crazy I couldn’t believe I was broke again but you are not a real boss if you don’t bounce back. During the grand opening week, I made 5 Figures after a month 1/2 of being out of business. I love the support and clientele I have built. I am now a successful 6 figure business owner. I offer a Boutique Bootcamp Class (1 on 1) to help guide other people who would like to start their own 6 figure retail business. I can also help guide someone who is already in business. Everything I know I will give them all the information and tips they need to be just as successful as me. I do have a Group Class coming up in September. Tickets will be available for purchase in August visit

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it was never smooth, lol. Even when things are going good shortly after it’s always something bad. Funding for business, no help, not knowing anything about business credit and tax paperwork. It was always hard for me, especially not having help to stock inventory. Everything started to come together when I found a great accountant to help me figure out everything. Thanks to family and friends that helped when they could. Shout out to my mom. She heard me cry, stress, and beg for her help. She came through no matter what even when I knew I didn’t have to cry or beg for her help.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the owner of Nique’s 3k Boutique in Fairview Heights, IL. It will be 2 years September 15, 2022 we have been in business. I love to help other women find cute and fashionable outfits to wear in my boutique. You can say I’m a stylist. My customers love when I help style them for an event or occasion. We sell great quality clothing for size Small-3xl. Fashion is my passion and I hope to be a Famous Stylist one day.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Yes, Patience. Success will not happen overnight. So, it is very essential that you remain patient and continue to put in effort. Even when you do not see results. You must be very consistent with promoting your business. Also invest in taking classes to increase your knowledge in the industry, it can help you get you better results. It will take a lot of trial and error.
