Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Behl
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was really young, I attended a “how to draw” class at Disney World. I can’t remember what we drew but I remember knowing that drawing was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Scribbling on every piece of paper I could find, my passion for everything art has stayed with me to this day. In 2016, I took the leap and began offering my services as a graphic designer and an illustrator professionally. Since then, I have had the incredible opportunity to work with some incredibly talented people and make some really neat stuff. In June of 2024, I officially founded The Zack Behl Design Co. LLC.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not! But is has been so much fun! There is so much work that goes into developing a skill, I would say I have drawn for thousands of hours over my life and I hope to keep drawing as long as I can hold a pencil. Even in times where I felt I was not improving, I took a lot of solace in the fact that 4 year old me would be so happy with how far I’ve come.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’ve specialized in character illustration for most of my career, creating mascots and superheroes for a number of clients. The Pickle Bros Cycling team has been a really fantastic client I have had the opportunity to work with over the years. In recent years, I have really focused on logo and brand design, which has been a great challenge but some of the most fulfilling work I have taken part in.
How do you define success?
I think success is often defined by progress. How far you’ve come and how far you have left to go to achieve your goals. I like to have one project a year where I try to improve on one particular part of my work from years before.
