Exploring Life & Business with Aliyah Glass of Aliyah Nicole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliyah Glass.

Hi Aliyah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Aliyah Glass, I am a social media manager, and strategist from St. Louis, Missouri. I started my creative journey as I entered high school attending a Performing Arts School, Grand Center Arts Academy of St. Louis.

I was a dance major and participated as an intermediate and then advanced student for the four years of my attendance. My love for creating started with choreographing original pieces that were performed in dance concerts and in times when I was alone to improve.

I then dived into the world of social media in the summer of 2018. I started a blog called “LifeofLiyah” where I created written content focusing on beauty and lifestyle.

I shared blog posts biweekly covering a plethora of topics including beauty product must-haves, day in the life of a college student, and much more. I started an Instagram for my brand that would become the sister to my blog site. During this time, I mastered building a community with over 1,000 followers, curating content for my target audience, and maintaining my brand’s mission and purpose.

Three years later, I completed my collegiate career receiving a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. I developed project management and creative strategy skills that I implemented in the internships and projects I was involved and participated in.

I gain experience in being a brand manager for an up and coming modeling agency in St. Louis, MO, a social media editor for a production company in LA, and a social media intern for a creative agency in Chicago. These experiences prepared me to choose the path of entrepreneurship in the marketing field.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No path is ever easy.

I’ve had my share of struggles but instead, I choose to reflect on lessons as another opportunity. Yes, sometimes I didn’t give myself grace but time was the best lesson.

I took the time to step away to reflect and regroup. I then implemented new strategies, systems, and services structures. I look at any obstacle as an opportunity to pivot.

We’ve been impressed with Aliyah Nicole LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I help business owners show up authenticity and confidently online using unique strategies and curating content for their brand. I have helped multiple clients elevate their social media presence by conducting full audits of their profiles, growing and engaging with their target audience and communities, planning and implementing marketing strategies on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

Throughout my collegiate experience, I developed a solid skill set in the digital marketing space. I learned the fundamentals of marketing research, strategic marketing, business analytics, advertising, and branding.

I offer four exclusive services including social media management, social media development, 1:1 coaching and content curation. These services are packed with value and continuous support.

Included are social media audits, strategy development, and provided content creation. In this new year, I have expanded my team and now provide in house photography and videography services. I provided a well equipped service experience for businesses in any part of their journey with a focus on elevating their digital marketing.

Working in this industry for three years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with business owners who have great products in the beauty, fashion, tech, and other industries. Some of my clients also have features in Essence and Yahoo.

Together, we’ve grown social media platforms to 2,000+ followers, reached social media accounts at a 500% success rate, converting followers into customers, and much more. I not only offer my support but teach clients how to be creative in their own right to attract their ideal audience through strategy and consistency.

I am very proud of what I have accomplished in only the first year of being a full-time entrepreneur. It hasn’t been easy but the work I have put in is paying off and a much greater reward than expected. To help others grow fuels my passion to continue to do what I do.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking builds credibility. Taking a risk with the possibility of things not going as projected fosters motivation for problem-solving. Choosing the path of entrepreneurship right after graduation was a risk in the sense of it not being the traditional way of completing a collegiate career.

One night I was having a conversation with my dad. He asked what my plan was moving forward and I said I wanted to seek a job at an agency to gain more experience.

In knowing my vision to start a business he simply asked me “what are you waiting for?” Although I was hesitate and thought I needed more time to execute. I let that one conversation with my dad be the push that I needed to move forward with my ultimate goal. Taking risk may make things uncomfortable but will prepare you for the next level.

You may have heard this before… “You miss 100% of the shots that you don’t take.” I encourage anyone who wants to do anything whether it’s to invest in their craft, go to school, or start a business, to take that shot.
