Exploring Life & Business with Brijet Finister of Jet Set Finance

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brijet Finister.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from California but I moved to Saint Louis in April of 2022. While in California, I built my financial services business that focused on providing high-quality financial literacy and implementation through life insurance and investments to my community. This passion was fueled by watching my community suffer due to a lack of education and resources. After my father passed away from Cancer, it became my mission to speak awareness about protecting your family’s financial future.

I also wrote and self-published a book titled “Good grief: A Practical Guide to Navigating Loss” that puts a focus on helping other practically through the stages of grief in their own lives. it affects us all, but we never talk about it -until now! I also danced professionally for the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors. After tearing my ACL and being forced to pause my dance career, I got certified to be a therapeutic yoga teacher to help others reconnect with their body and find healing in gentle movement. Since moving to Saint Louis, I have leaned heavily into my writing and connection with women.

I started a Faith and Femininity Lifestyle Blog focused on sharing my journey of discovering what it means to be a feminine woman of faith in today’s society. In all, my goal is to use my experiences and education to encourage and support women of color to be the best possible version of themselves. If we all heal, we have more opportunities to help others heal and succeed in their purpose and life!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Losing my father to pancreatic cancer was a huge blow to my life and my heart. I struggled with depression for years and then I tore my ACL while dancing almost 4 years later and it was yet another blow. My dad was my heart and dancing was my identity.

Without either in my life, I questioned who I truly was and what my life would look like moving forward. It took a lot of deep introspection and work to get to a good place and to find myself standing here today. It also motivated me to prepare others for the worst but expect the best.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I educate individuals on basic financial principles that we are not taught in school and then help them implement that education through personalized affordable plans curated just for them! So often, the financial services business is looked at negatively due to a lot of mistrust. I am different because I am a black woman with a goal to help my community prepare for their financial futures and protect their families lives, not just get a check.

I truly believe in helping my community and providing resources for their financial success. I offer education and services with life insurance, investing, planning, and budgeting for the person who may not know anything about money all the way up to the most advanced. When you work with me you get the benefit of my heart and my passion for your success, not a 1 800 number.

My brand stands for doing the right thing for families 100 % of the time, no matter what!

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I have been lucky to have been raised by some incredible parents, taught by the most amazing teachers, and crossed paths with mentors who have changed my life. Luck has been with my connections, and the work I did after gleaning from their wisdom.
