Exploring Life & Business with Leslie Wolfe of Playful Hearts Yoga and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Wolfe.

Hi Leslie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I fell in love with yoga when I was pregnant with my third child. I recovered much more quickly from my third c-section and my doctor told me it was because I was doing yoga while I was pregnant. I am a former Elementary school teacher so I decided to take my teaching skills and combine them with my love for yoga. I got certified to teach adults then certified to teach children. Teaching children is my life-long passion, and I knew from the moment I experienced my first children’s yoga training that I would be able to use the techniques to make a difference in children’s lives. Since then, I have been offering classes throughout the St. Louis area to Girl Scouts, MOPS groups, private and public Parent/Child classes, and in local preschools. I have recently begun offering online classes and yoga and nutrition content as well. I feel called to teach children and parents techniques for stress management, anxiety relief, mindful living and how to implement healthy lifestyle changes through nutrition. I’m grateful to play a part in setting up children for a healthier future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a business has its challenges. The biggest challenge has been building a following and making a consistent income. With the pandemic came shutdowns and I had to shift my goals. I originally planned to get yoga into the schools by training teachers, but that changed due to schools being closed down. Now I am offering an online option through Live Zooms or Recorded trainings. The transition was time-consuming and challenging but I feel the gift of technology has opened up new possibilities for my business.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Playful Hearts Yoga brings stress management to children through fun games, yoga poses, and songs. My goal is for children to have fun while discovering the strength of their own bodies and the peacefulness of a quiet mind. Because I have an education background, I understand child development and relate well to children. My classes are always fun and hands-on. The children are learning yoga techniques such as balance and mindfulness yet don’t realize it because they’re having such a good time doing it. Something else that sets me apart is that I am also a certified Nutrition Coach focused on helping families live healthier lifestyles. Parent hire me to help improve their child’s focus, reduce their anxiety, and create healthier living routines through yoga and nutrition.

I am offering a FREE 5 day Breathe and Balance Little Yogi Challenge in a private Facebook Group the first week in August. I will go Live each day with a short segment for the adults then I will teach the children how to practice the techniques. They will learn how to manage stress and anxiety through breathing techniques, techniques to focus and become more mindful, movement through yoga flows and life balance exercises. Parents, teachers and counselors can join at

In September, I will be offering a FREE 5-day Healthier Happy Families challenge where we will learn about kitchen clean out, healthier recipes and how to shop for a healthier kitchen. More info will be coming soon on my website.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am terrified of spiders. There is no yoga breathing technique that can help me calm down if I see a spider anywhere close to me!
