Hidden Gems: Meet Lisa (Leisa) Camp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Camp.

Hi Lisa, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, I enjoyed being a theatre performer. If you’d ask me back then what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d have said a singer or actor. Well, surprise, I’m no Broadway star, but I found that love in another form. Like with theatre, my social media and web design business allows me to connect, entertain, and tell a story.

I started Leisa Renae Creative, LLC at the height of COVID-19 Quarantine after graduating with my Masters in Business; looking at the slim picking of job opportunities, I decided to hire myself. I’m now in my second year of business and proud of how far I’ve come. We’re growing our client base and looking towards the future.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Define smooth? No, I kid! It has not been a smooth road, but it’s been a rewarding one. Having no one in my life who’s journeyed into entrepreneurship, it’s been a steep learning curve learning all the logistics to run a successful business. Being an entrepreneur, a solo one at that (solopreneur), requires you to be resilient, resourceful, and lean into your instincts like never before. Don’t even get me started on work-life balance!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Leisa Renae Creative, LLC is a black-owned small business located in St. Louis, Missouri. We help manage social accounts, build digital homes and service other digital needs. We value WHO we work with, not how many. Therefore, we limit the number of partners we work with to serve our clients better. Because of this, we can: Meet Your Needs Faster & Collaborate Easier, Offer Real-Time Interaction & Engagement, Always A Call or Text Away. Book a consultation call with us at leisarenae.com.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m a leftie. Left-Handers unite!
