Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia Cook.
Hi Olivia, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
“Grow through what you go through”, was my mantra for about a year and a half. In October of 2018, my husband and I lost 80% of our belongings in hurricane Michael. It was a category 5 hurricane and the eye of the storm went over our home. Our entire life changed in moments.
My husband is in the military and we were ordered to evacuate before the storm. While waiting for our new location, we evacuated to Atlanta, GA. We got notice of our new location the day after Christmas. After 5 months of living in Airbnbs and hotels, we finally closed on our home in Fairview Heights, IL in March of 2019.
I was still in survival mode. I “knew” I wanted a full-time job and to work all the time. In a few months, that’s exactly what happened. I was working 60 – 80 hours a week between both of my jobs. Not to make ends meet but to get ahead.
In October of 2019, I was working at my part-time restaurant job and 80 entrepreneurs came in. I was serving 10 of them. Something told me to pray before they came in. Someone said that doesn’t work and I said, “Well I’m blessed and highly favored and I know what works for me so I am going to pray”.
The group split up into tables of 10 and 8. While I was serving my 10 tops, I asked the younger end of the table what they were there for. They let me know it was for Arete Syndicate. At the time I had no idea what that was but I knew I wanted to be eating with those people one day. I don’t know what came over me but I told the other, more experienced side of the table that I would be eating with them one day. In return, they invited me as a plus one to the convention.
This also happened to be my father’s birthday. He passed away when I was 20 and I always try to do something to celebrate his life on his birthday and death day. It was an amazing experience.
To make it better the night of the event the CEOs “Ed Mylett and Andy Frisella” came into my restaurant while I was working. I didn’t serve them but I did go up and thank them for what they do.
The convention was about 30 minutes away from my restaurant. I took that as a sign from God because what are the odds? Out of all the fine dining restaurants they end up at the one I’m working at? It was my message to focus on my goals and stop living in survival mode.
A month later I had the uppianpy that I was made to be a life coach. I wasn’t sure what type of life coach I should be but I knew it was my gift to empower other people to live their lives on their terms.
By this time, I had rebuilt my life for the third time. Became a homeowner at the age of 26. Lived in 4 different states within 5 years. Received my bachelor’s degree in Professional Communication from Florida State University. Lost 60 pounds, and too much more to list. I had enough confidence in my ability to learn and adapt to whatever life threw my way.
I hired my first business coach in March of 2020. Also, I’ve received my certification in transformational life coaching and neuro-linguistic programming. Since starting my business in June of 2020, I have helped many women improve their lives in the matter of months.
As a transformational success coach, I offer a holistic approach to upgrading my client’s quality of life. I help my clients define their goals then provide a plan to make their goals reality. I make personalized programs for each client. I provide positive cognitive-behavioral techniques to achieve their goals faster.
I also have a podcast. The Empowered Woman Badass and Unfiltered was made to inspire, empower and educate. It showcases badass women from all over the world. Providing tips on personal development, mindset, and healing.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been far from easy. Many sleepless nights trying to make content. Many nights making content that many people didn’t see or listen to. A lot of the struggles came from using advice that wasn’t really for me. Many came from getting in my own head too much. I also cared way too much about what people thought about me. I have been learning the entire journey. When I adopted having a learner’s mindset and no longer thought I should be great at something new, things got a lot easier. Giving myself grace has been the most beneficial things for me when the bumps in the road come.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What matters most to you? Why?
In addition to empowering women, I am passionate about natural disasters. I know what it’s like to lose your home in a matter of moments. The feeling of the world forgetting about you while you have to pick up the pieces left. With the frequency of natural disasters, finding solutions for those in need is of great importance to me.
