Life & Work with Emma Frey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Frey.

Emma, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started back in December of 2018 when I was stuck at home over New Year’s Eve sick with the flu. Up until that point in time, I had dabbled in starting a blog but really didn’t put enough time into it. So, while I was sick, I decided, once and for all, that I’d for sure start a blog and really tailor my Instagram to be a go-to spot for all things STL.

Fast-forward three years and I’ve grown my followers, worked with some great businesses and brands, and shared so many things to taste and do in the Lou! Meet Earnestly Emma Blog.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. I work a full-time job, so finding the time to create quality content as well as deliver on collaborations has been tough. It’s all about fitting things in where I can and learning to say no when my plate is too full.

I also struggle with comparing my account to others and that’s a slippery slope. I’ve learned over the years to stick with my “brand” and just post what I like to post. It’s been a battle for me to not base my worth off of my follower count.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Marketing Project Manager for an upscale senior living company. I’ve worked within my field of communications ever since college and have learned so much along the way. From working for a local magazine to handling marketing for eight senior living communities, I’ve added to my repertoire of marketing and communication skills and love to put that into practice within my side hustle of my blog and Instagram.

For some fun news, I earned my Congressional Award Gold Medal in 2009, after 800 hours of volunteering, personal development, physical fitness and event planning. I traveled to DC to receive my medal within the capitol building. This is something I’m very proud of achieving and the reason why my self-confidence and self-esteem are what they are today.

I also dance Spanish flamenco and have performed all over St. Louis at weddings, cultural festivals and private events. Follow us at @stlflamencosociety on Instagram!

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I would love to work with any local St. Louis business or organization. I’m all about supporting local and showcasing the amazing establishments and people within this city. There is so much to taste, see and do and we all need to become tourists and start exploring!

Feel free to DM me on Instagram or email me with any collaboration ideas you have. Let’s partner and make some magic.
