Life & Work with Joe Floww

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Floww.

Hi Joe, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
When I was in high school, I always wanted to have on the best outfits and figured out I had a strong love for style. Throughout college, I knew I wanted to pursue a creative career, but had trouble figuring out how I was going to accomplish this. I was active on Instagram but wasn’t taking it seriously until I realized I had the chance to be a content creator and get paid for it. During the pandemic, I decided to take my social media seriously and started treating Instagram and TikTok as a business rather than just for fun. I began to learn how to make fashion videos and take my own pictures showcasing my outfits. After 6 months of working hard weekly on social media, I got my first big brand deal with Levi’s. Shortly after that, I got signed to a talent agency in London, which would help me with my creative journey. After a full year of making content for social media, I became a full-time content creator and had the opportunity to work with brands such as Instagram, ASOS, Levi’s, Dr. Martens, Moncler, and more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a struggle to show up weekly as my best self, but I have learned so much about letting my personality speak more than a filter ever could. It’s difficult sometimes to find the best lighting or spots downtown, or even film during the right weather. Trying to beat the algorithm and keep my eyes focused on what matters has also been a battle, but it is all worth it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a Digital Content Creator specializing in fashion content on Instagram and TikTok. I’m most known for my oversized, pattern-filled wardrobe. I’m most proud of collaborating with the Instagram main page by creating an Instagram Reel for them. My personalized style sets me apart because I’m a style chameleon, meaning I can wear multiple styles and still incorporate my own flow.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the fashion community taking over digital marketing with the rise of content creators being the actual marketers. I also see vintage fashion becoming more and more popular.
