Today we’d like to introduce you to Tekeisha and Thomas Bledsoe. 

Hi Tekeisha and Thomas, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
This is a business that we kind of fell into. After college, our credit was really shot and we had trouble even getting approved for an apartment when we moved back to Saint Louis. We were lucky enough to find a private landlord and was able to stay in his property for a few years. It was very small, old, and not updated at all. We got married and had our first child and decided we wanted better for our family. We went the “lease to own” route in a better house and was able to stay there 3 years and purchase at year 3 if our credit score was high enough. We went through 3 different companies to help increase our scores throughout the years, but none of them was helping. We were wasting money with those companies. Time was winding down, so I told Thomas that I think we could learn this on our own. He agreed, so we ordered books about credit, studied the laws, and watched a ton of videos. In 3 months, we were able to increase our scores high enough to get approved for a home. Now our income was never a problem, it was just the credit, so when we got the approval amount, we no longer wanted to buy the lease to own property, but we were able to purchase our dream home, in our dream neighborhood. The mortgage company was amazed at how we fixed our own credit and they started referring clients to us. We then reached out to some family and friends and fixed their credit for little to no cost. After seeing how we were helping change other people lives, we decided to go into business to be able to help as many people as possible.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. Word of mouth has gotten us far. We promised to maintain good customer service and honesty throughout our customer’s entire experience. Also, we are now partnered with 10 different realtors, 3 mortgage companies, multiple car dealerships, a health care insurance company, a student loan relief program, credit card companies, 3 different credit monitoring companies, and consumer attorneys. All of these partnerships help make our job easier as in constant business, but also add perks for our clients. A minor issue we had was work overload, but we have been able to add a customer service and sales team to help handle the traffic.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Together Thomas and I help increase credit scores so consumers can get approved for home loans, auto loans, start businesses, or just help them have an overall better credit score. We have helped 1,000s of clients throughout the almost 6 years in business. We are very transparent. We have plenty of videos circulating where we give free tips and information about increasing your credit and keeping it that way. We believe in sharing the knowledge and giving you the opportunity to fix what you can on your own because it can be done. That’s what makes us different from others. We will let u know if something is an easy fix so that you can save your money and do it on your own. We also make sure we are available to everyone. You can easily reach out to us to get a question answered. That goes for clients and non-clients. We also have consumer attorneys who works for us that will be sure everything is reporting accurately on each bureau, or a suit will be filed where our client will receive compensation, and the item gets removed from their credit. I, Tekeisha also started a business called Elite Lifestyle. I help build business credit, and help coach and build businesses from the ground up. I have a Facebook group with about 2k women where I give free information on personal credit, building business credit, starting businesses, marketing, we have savings challenges, and share expertises and uplift one another.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like that we are not afraid to support one another. Saint Louis people will definitely show up for you. They have showed so much love to us throughout the years, and we appreciate each and every person. We had a 5-year celebration dinner earlier this year, and the turnout and support was amazing. I wouldn’t say what I like least about the city, but in my industry, this is something I like least about a lot of cities and their high schools. I believe junior and senior classes should be taught more about credit and debt. As soon as you graduate, you start to receive credit card and student credit card offers. If you don’t have knowledge of how to properly use a credit card, you will end up in debt. A lot of us are not taught this in our homes, so I think at school would be a great start.
