Meet Coreyanna Sims

Today we’d like to introduce you to Coreyanna Sims.

Hi Coreyanna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
After high school, I started getting into makeup. I use to love watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and practicing makeup looks on myself. I never really thought about being a makeup artist until my close friend Deasha pushed me in that direction. I practiced on her until I got more confident. A month later, I started accepting clients and started to have a passion for it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a hard journey for my brand. Most people know I started with a folding chair, a lamp, and very few makeup products. I use to charge $30 for a full face. I saved my money until I could afford better makeup, a make-up chair, and a ring light. It took some time to get to where I’m at right now and I’m so proud that I never gave up on my brand.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a makeup artist and I just recently started doing lash extension. I’m mostly known for my soft and dramatic glams. I’m so passionate about my brand and just seeing how far I came in my journey amazes me. I’m extremely thankful for having a strong support team. So many times, I felt discouraged and wanted to quit but I knew that wasn’t the best way to go. I continued to practice and perfect my craft. I’m so thankful for my clients for trusting and believing in me. I absolutely love seeing smiles on my client’s faces when I show them their makeup. I had a couple of clients cry because they felt so beautiful. I think that’s what set me apart from others the most. FacesByMissfancy is more than a brand, it’s an experience. I care about each and every client. It’s all about feeling fancy and you will be treated that way when you sit in my chair.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I learned along my journey is consistency. You will have bad days when you feel like you didn’t do your best. That’s not an excuse to stop. Go harder! Work on perfecting your craft. I took online makeup classes, watched YouTube tutorials, and kept practicing. I think the key is to stay humble. There’s always room for growth. I’m a very spiritual person so I pray about my brand. I knew this journey was never going to be a walk in the park so I make sure I’m mentally and physically prepared for this path.
