Rising Stars: Meet Devante Devrouax

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devante Devrouax.

Hi Devante, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Music has always been something that intrigued me but I never really thought about making it, until I went through my first manic episode. I was a 15-year-old boy going through emotions I didn’t understand. Initially, music was only an outlet for me. I was more into doing digital art, traditional, animation, etc. But it always felt as if I couldn’t fully express myself with just art alone. Almost as if something was missing. Since 2021 began, I have chosen to incorporate both my art and my music into one brand. Starting out I was embarrassed and didn’t tell anyone I made music, but the more music I made, the more confident I became. Until eventually every song felt like an amazing experience that I had to show everybody. Transitioning from teenager to young adult also made me realize I wanted to take a step from making music as a hobby to trying to build myself a stable career. I now look at it not only as an outlet but as a business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been a pretty long and bumpy road. The biggest thing I struggle with is my motivation. If I put out content my audience doesn’t respond to, then it almost feels as if everything I just did was all for nothing. I have to combat this by using those same emotions and turn them into another masterpiece.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am most proud of my independence to be able to do so many artists related things myself. These include but aren’t limited to producing, mixing, mastering, graphic design, marketing and etc. I also believe this sets me apart because I am willing to put in the work and learn what needs to be learned

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I feel as though the most important quality for my success is creativity. I am an artist so it’s essential I have as much inspiration for my art as possible.
