Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Schlechte. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Kelly Schlechte and Brandy Smith started Local 618 Threads in 2017! We started with tees and hats to highlight our love for the community! We have grown over the years and attend pop up events so people can shop with us in person but our main source to shop is our website. www.local618.com. We design all our threads, handle marketing and full fill all the orders! All while juggling our families as well as working our “day jobs.” We take pride in supporting other local business along the way too! We appreciate those who have supported us along the way. Our biggest giveback is our “No Hate” campaign we do every October for Antibullying awareness month! Proceeds from the threads we sell is donated to CHADS Coalition in St. Louis.
Even though we are from the 618 area code, we are so close to the state line that we carry so “Lou” and “314” gear too!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our biggest struggle is juggling our families and jobs and still giving time to our goals here at Local 618.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Outside of owning and operating Local 618 Threads Kelly is a pediatric Nurse and Brandy is a counselor.
What matters most to you? Why?
Supporting the community and giving back to it!
