Today we’d like to introduce you to Molly Grisham.
Hi Molly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In the spring of 2016, I knew my life was about to change. For nearly two decades, I had made a living teaching and coaching at the college level, but I sensed a shift was coming. The decision to walk away from a predictable career and start my own business was both scary and liberating. However, I knew that I was the only one responsible for leading my life and it was time to fully embrace that process.
During my 20-year career as an educator and coach, I noticed how skilled leaders and healthy people impact the success of a group. As a result, my college teams often became a research and design lab as I used experiential learning to develop my students & student-athletes as people. During my career, I launched a leadership academy, wrote curriculum, developed a leadership self-assessment, created a service-learning program, and mentored young leaders. It became clear to me that investing in people and helping them to lead their life mattered to me, so I made the decision to leave higher education to pursue a wider audience.
I now work with educators, corporate groups, and athletic teams by providing leadership development, team and corporate team-building, custom workshops, and personality assessments. My work is centered around experiencing lightbulb moments (“ah-ha” moments) in leadership development, personal growth, and professional development. My hope is that I won’t simply speak to a group, lead team-building games, or facilitate corporate team building but rather that I will provide an experience for all participants. My work can be done face to face or through online platforms.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been filled with every possible emotion and experience, but it has been worth it! I am grateful for the opportunity to do the work I love.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work is rooted in experiential learning and designed to inspire and set people in motion. I am passionate about building teams, developing leaders, creating custom workshops, and utilizing personality assessments for personal and professional development. I love helping to develop people.
I bring the experience of 20 years in coaching at the collegiate, high school, and club levels, an entrepreneurial spirit of a successful business builder, the communication skills of an author and storyteller, and 10+ years as an adjunct professor and curriculum builder to every client engagement. I’ve helped athletes reach and exceed personal goals, teams become more productive, leaders achieve new heights, and companies be more competitive in their markets through highly engaging programs, curriculum, and workshops.
I have developed my facilitation skills by participating in trainings hosted by Training for Change, The Center for Courage and Renewal, The Circle Center, and the Experiential Training Institute at OnSite. Additionally, I have completed training as a Civil & Family Mediator, I am a Level 1 Certified Experiential Specialist with the International Society for Experiential Professionals, a member of the International Association of Facilitation, and a Certified Myers-Briggs facilitator.
What sets me apart? My work is hands-on and very EXPERIENTIAL!
What matters most to you?
As a result, I want to provide them with quality experiences that deepen their relationship with themselves and others. My work is all about giving them the tools they need to better navigate the path in front of them.
