Today we’d like to introduce you to Prakash Cheerla.
Hi Prakash, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My love towards photography began way back in 2008 when I was pursuing my Master’s program. I used to take pictures on every long weekend trip to most of the national parks around California with my friends and even when I visited my cousins place I used to do event photography with DSLR. After completing my master’s I landed in a job (Information Technology) and every now and then, I used to do some photography whenever I got some time. I moved to St. Louis in 2014 for my new job later I felt something was missing apart from my job and sports. But I have realized my passion towards Professional Photography after my marriage when I started looking at our wedding pictures and the magic in photography. My wife became my model and I used to irritate her a lot, taking 100’s and 100’s of pictures almost every week and at the same time I learnt many ways in capturing the same subject differently.
As a Photographer, I wanted to capture the Special Moments & Portray the excellence in photographs, I am specialized in capturing your unique story through imagery and also the emotion and beauty of clients. Social media is the only platform where I can express myself so right away I have created webpages on FB and Instagram at the same time to promote my passion in photography. Thanks to my family, friends and especially to my wife for encouraging me in this photography journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think life will always be smooth for any person. It will always be challenging with an added advantage of struggles. But It’s been important for me to adapt my passion towards photography and professional/personnel priorities to align with those changes. I started this journey with passion towards photography and also this was not our main source of income, so I was not at all worried and most of my referrals are through word-of-mouth. I want to mention one thing though and none of the photographers mention it anywhere, clients really don’t tend to understand the effort that we put in post-processing each and every photo apart from the session timings, believe me many photographers spend more than couple hrs in post-processing after every shoot and which is not at al recognized.
End of the day I can say one thing, my goal is to use my style to capture who you are in the most natural way possible and when I set off to photograph someone, I am totally dedicated to giving every person I shoot my best and I would love to be your photographer.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am surrounded both by natural beauty and interesting people. I use my camera to document the world and then print images with a focus on the magic I find in daily life. My pictures tell my stories. I truly love being a photographer and am honored each time I get to capture elegant, timeless, and vibrant images for couples and families as they embark on their journey together. Before each & every session, I usually discuss with clients what their thoughts and expectations are from the session so that I can suggest the attire, locations and what kind of pictures I am planning to do so that they can be more comfortable. I try to bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and I truly care about getting to know each of my couples so I can capture their memories honestly, and I know that draws a lot of clients my way.
My style of photography is to capture your unique story through images, your emotion, your beauty, your moment and your forever of clients. I am specialized in Weddings, Engagements, Pre-wed/Post-wed shoots, Maternity, Portraits, Headshots, Seniors, Events, Family and photographing couples throughout the Missouri area & beyond!
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
COVID-19 Crisis has slowed down many things but at the same time, I realized that we don’t spend enough quality time with our families, but due to COVID I there was no other option other then Working From Home and spending a good amount of time with family and this pandemic taught how to stay safe & healthy by staying home.
I have utilized most of my time on researching new concepts in photography, new ways of editing photos, drone photography, videography and also how to capture photographs being safe and keeping clients safe.
