Exploring Life & Business with Donovan Long of D.Long Art Show/ D.Long Housing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donovan Long

Hi Donovan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started working with Acrylics in 2009 and sold my first painting in 2010. In 2011 I went to Forest Park to study more about art. After witnessing the positive affects my artwork had on people, I was inspired to become more professional with my craft, the company D.Long Art Show was started in 2018. I have also sold art across America and in the community. I’ve been in Art Exhibitions all thru St.Louis, First Solo Art show was March 2024, over a dozen of Vender events, and hosted paint party’s, and also painted live for birthday parties and events. My goals for the future are to do more community events and projects with kids.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had a few struggles of getting into exhibitions, it’s always easy to get into events as a vendor, my goal is to get represented by a art gallery, and learn what it takes to get into a museum.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Ive had my art business D.Long Art Show for over 6 years and constantly trying to make it more professional, I’ve had my business D.Long Housing for two years working on real estate to give people a safe environment to live in.

How do you think about luck?
I always seem to find the right people to help me or support me in my art journey.
